Pho Saigon Noodle House is rated 4.4 out of 5 stars, based on 290 reviews!
Overall, this place is offering clean and nice interior and food, that is beyond average at least (maybe 4 stars). Btw, especially #93, shrimp, pork, egg rolls vermicelli was outstanding though ! It was so nice and impressive. Every ingredients were good enough quantity and well cooked as well. They are not overcooked or burnt and very yummy too. They will get 5stars if I can see even a little smile on staffs. Sometimes, a little bit scared to talk to them.. lol
This place is awesome! My wife and I have been going here for a long time and love the Food and prices are reasonable as well. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to eat Vietnamese Food!!!
I love Pho. Broth was very flavorful and service is good too. Clean, fast service. I always order 27 pho ga and it's perfect everytime.
there's alot of pho noodle house here in san jose/ milpitas area but this is where me and my co worker's normally hang out for a soup night afterwork cause we find their food delicious and clean. the staff are nice and friendly. the whole service is pretty decent and the price is reasonable. will denifinitely come back when craving for pho soup!
They open until 3AM!!!
This place is definitely a go-to! The rice plates are delicious! Try to shredded pork or the beef plate. They give a generous and filling amount for an affordable price. Pho is also good here. Broth is clear and not super oily! I also usually go for the vietnamese coffee with less condensed milk. Workers are respectful and always gets my order correct.
Firstly Mae The Owner is A total sweetheart I'm a regular here everytime I come to San Jose from la. Mae always greets me with a warm smile she is always happy. I don't understand why this place hasn't reached 5 star yet. I can voucher and say this is one of the top pho places in San Jose. The food is always fresh and comes out in a timely manner. The best part they open til 2 am after the clubs.
Love how this place is opened late nights and early mornings. They're really about their business and the flavors are very satisfactory. My bun bo hue broth was a little bit on the thick side but the flavors were good, needed a little bit more of a spice kick and it would've been perfect. Waitresses are very kind as well and the best part is they were replaying the nba playoffs. What's better then pho at 2am and basketball?!?
The soup is tasty and hot. I ordered # 33 the seafood pho and its great. I normally go to Kim Long but not any more. The price is great too and they open till 3am. The service is great and the place is clean (including the restroom). I've been there three times and its been excellent. Customer for life.
Summary: Pho Saigon Noodle House is a very affordable restaurant with great tasting noodle soups and a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Highly recommended for a quick bite to eat during its long hours, especially late Friday and Saturday nights.
Food: I usually get the beef noodle soups when I come here, because that's usually what I'm craving when I decide to come. However, they have an enormous selection of other dishes, from the Vietnamese broken rice dishes to other types of Vietnamese bun and noodle soups. Definitely try their pork slices with the broken rice - smoky and flavorful with a tinge of sweetness! They also have a rice dish with half a chicken - also delightful. They make a special fried noodle dish (same noodles as the pho, but fried into small squares) that my mom loves. She also likes their duck noodle soup. Portion sizes are huge! The regular size pho fills me up no matter how hungry I am, but my guy friends usually get the large for just a dollar or so more. Their bowls look so enormous I don't know how they can finish it though. There is a variety of drinks to choose from, including the normal pearl teas. I especially like their smoothies.
Ambience: Environment is very new, clean and comfortable. There are two large flat-screen TVs, one of which is usually tuned to a cartoon channel for the kids, while the other is tuned to popular sport games that are on for the sport fans. Furniture is acceptable, and the bathrooms are clean.
Service: Friendly staff takes your order and brings you your food quickly. Answers your questions about the different dishes.
Other: I especially like their pho bowl shapes and spoons that hang on the edge of the bowl preventing it from falling into the soup!
I will definitely be a regular at this restaurant. Highly recommended!
Excellent food, good location and stay up late for hungry people!
My friend Elaine C loves this place. I however will always have a soft spot for Pho Mai when it comes to late night drunken pho. We came here one night after we ditched the drunk ones at home for some nice hot pho. I was a little difficult and ordered pho bo vien but with hu tieu noodles instead. I like the wider noodles as opposed to the skinny noodles, so what? The guy was a little irritated I could tell, but I used my vietnamese and it worked out for the better. That and we were the only ones in the restaurant anyway. The soup was definitely more flavorful (maybe more MSG?) and it was nice that we had the whole restaurant to ourselves as opposed to the ruckus at pho mai. Elaine looooved her pho much better than pho mai. It was pretty much just pho for me. I'm just happy they've taken over the spot where Pho Hoa had failed quite brutally & wish this place much success. I appreciate that the server dealt with me in such a nice manner as opposed to all the other vietnamese restaurants that I could imagine would have been le douchey. :)
This place is Delish! Prior to the restaurant s grand opening, the place was formerly pho hoa. This place is so much better. The bowls of soup is so big, even for a small. I love their rice plates too! What I definitely love most about this place is that its super clean. For me that's an A+++++
Much improved from the prior ownership. Nice and clean. Fast service even though the waiters don't speak English well they are very nice.
This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the Valley!
I love their beef stew noodle and New York stake with red rice. It's awesome. The price is reasonable. The service is great. I always ask for a free ice tea that tastes really good.
The portion is good and price is reasonable.
I love this place. My BFF and I have tried many Pho places around San Jose / Milpitas area. I think this is the best one so far..why? well because since im a pepper lover. Im used to eating noodles with oily pepper that you see around the pho shops. if i dont get any in my noodle, i wont really enjoy it. Its a plus! this place opens really late! i love it because my bff and I came back from a concert and we were hungry. what better than PHO! its pretty cheap and the large bowl is really large. haha. very spacious and clean. Like always, its always DaC BIET FOR ME! A must go!
i still really enjoy going to this place.
1. it's still pretty clean, especially compared to the other pho places in this area
2. the service is still pretty nice
3. they're still using good quality steak
4. great chou fun!!
5. portions are still large
6. great variety of pearl milk teas
however, i feel like the quality of the broth is slipping a little. and every time we order their eggrolls, they taste less and less cooked.
If your looking for some good pho...you've found the place!!! The broth is really good!!! I usually get the chicken and veggie pho bowl...The great thing about this place is that their open late...Fridays and Saturdays are open til 3am...and most other days open til 12am...Also, it's clean place to eat...I'll be back soon!!!
When it's late, I mean late, after 2-3am this is the place to go. The service sort of lacks, and every time I call in an order to go it's never been ready by the time I get there. I don't think they make it until I get there, really defeats the purpose. All that I must say the food is really good, makes up for the service on the late night. Food is clean and tasty. You can't go wrong with the pho, the udon pork noodle soup is also a good choice. Sometimes I get the beef with mixed vegetables over crispy noodles.
Flavorful Pho broth and served hot are 2 main qualities I really require for a Pho place. But I think it had lots of MSG in it too. I couldn't stop drinking my broth. :P This place is opened until 3am too, which is great if you want good Pho late night.
This is one of the better tasting late night restaurants (open until 3 am). The service is attentive and quick! I like the pho ap chao and their fresh soy milk.
Went here last night. I gave them 4 stars because they are way better than Pho Mai across the street. They are also open just as late. But if my other spot Kim long were open I would not come here. So not as good as Kim long but better than Pho Mai.
5 star because they made fresh orange juices specially for my son. The staff was friendly and the food was good i ordered the grilled pork w lemon grass, grilled shrimp, egg rolls and tomato fried rice everything was good! And they don't close until 2am!!!! Now that's my kinda place.
okay I walked in here thinkin it was pho hoa, didnt notice that it was pho saigon until today when I came back, the buni bi cha gio thit nuong is hella good, great lemongrass flavor.
here's the review I left on the pho hoa page the first time I went, thinkin it was still pho hoa:
got the steak and fried rice since didnt like the pho at the other location on tully the one time I tried it. not bad not bad
Pretty damn good, especially on the late night...open till 3am!! Better then Pho Hoa
Cleaner then most Pho restaurants. The lady at the desk is friendly. Also the pho is good and the prices are reasonable.
The Pho here is bomb! The broth is so rich and delicious! It's clean inside and they have a big flat-screen TV you can watch sports on whenever there's a game. The service is super friendly too, I've been to alot of Pho restaurants and I have yet to eat at one that offers the warmth and welcoming that they offered here at Pho Saigon. The waiter was funny too because I was trying to speak to him in Vietnamese and he kept replying to me in Tagalog haha! This is definitely going to be my new Pho spot from now on. Oh and this place doesn't accept credit cards (probably in the future but since it's been open for just about 2 weeks, they probably haven't set everything up yet) but if you need quick cash there's an ATM just around the corner. 5 Stars for you Pho Saigon!
Best location the open until 3am in the weekend that actully has decent food compare to most location that open at this business hour.
I don't know what others doing rating this place a 2 or 3 stars but this place has great food, nice setting, and nice employees. The best part of it is that they're open till 2 am on a regular weekday. But what I def tipped the bucket for me was the beautiful broth that they use with just a hint of cinnamon in their pho.... Sooo delicious!
Place is good. We got # 2,87,89. Was delicious and food was delivered in a timely manor. Staff was pleasant and ha a good overall environment.
This is definitely the place to go for late night eats. I was impressed with the menu selections, but I was tired and craving soup, so I went with your basic Pho. The broth was flavorful and a little fatty, just like I like it :). This is our new stop after those late nights out.
This place has been changed from a pho hoa to pho Saigon which is for the better. I come here for their bun bo hue which comes in huge portions which I never finish. For about $8 you get a small bowl that comes in a huge bowl! It has a lot of flavor in it making it a great option instead of pho all the time. The only down side is that is is cash only.
This place is the answer to my prayers when it's 2am and I am drunk and starving. Opens late, delicious pho, what more can you ask for?
I love me some pho. Maybe because I'm vietnamese? Anyway, Pho Nam used to be the spot when I lived in Santa Clara and Sunnyvale but since I moved to Milpitas it was always Pho Mai. Especially late night after the club. And then I took a whim and told my friends lets try Pho Saigon which had just barely opened. Definitely the most consistent pho place for me. Chicken pho is the best chicken pho I've had but everything else is really good. My mom even likes this place and she's very very very critical about her pho. We go here about once a week and the owner knows us. Love the spoons
Out of all the pho places around, this one by far hits the spot every time. The place itself, is fairly new and clean. The staff is nice. The pho by far is the best tasting, Best of all this place doesn't get overly crowded.
As we were leaving, the moment they said to us "Okay, see you tomorrow!" along with a big smile was the day we officially become regulars here. All the workers here are so warm and friendly, and very accomodating to our family. The place is very well-kept, tidy, and has a modern look that's inviting to eat in. The food selection here is awesome, so it's no wonder why we are here almost twice a week! Don't mind me, but I always order a large, yes LARGE #1. I've tried their combination chow mein once and my kids & I love it as well. I totally recommend this place!
I come here for lunch so consider mine a "daytime" review ;) They are open late though and that was really important to my clubbing friend. I love the spring rolls here! My friend really liked the fried egg rolls but they're a different texture than one might expect (not smooth dough but more rough texture) so I wasn't a huge fan. And I always get the Pho Gha (chicken noodle) and it's GREAT at this place. The chicken is normally lean meat, not too much skin or tendons or stuff like that. Broth is tasty. I'm a fan.
MY FAV SPOT TO GO FOR PHO. i live ABOUT 15 MINS AWAY AND THERE'S MILLIONS OF PHO AROUNDsouth/east sj BUT I LOVE THIS PLACE DONT ASKD ME WHY. I dont know what they put in that pho but what I noticed is that I always finished the whole thang, craz craz. lol !! I am an easy eater but pho usually fill me up real quick but this is a good amt and soup is prefect. Bring your cash ppl they dont do cc ! ALso if u crave for pho really late at night like me this is a place to be I think they close closer to 2but I could be wrong but just call first !! spacious and plenty of parking and not too crowded shocking LOL !!! Come by after u shop at Great Mall cause it's close by
I like the place. Its pretty standard and I would totally come back again. I usually get the seafood combo pho life soup. I only times I've been here was in the mornings.
Really good pho, generous portion sizes, and top knotch service. I highly recommend this place over other local pho stores like pho mai, pho y, and pho kim long. Parking always available, clean store, plenty of tables, and open really late on the weekends for night life people looking to find some good soup at a great price. An absolute great place.
I frequent here often since I work down the street. When it's a cold winter day, well not so cold this winter but you get what I mean =) Their pho is delicious! I wish they were located in San Jose so I can bring my family here. Driving to Milpitas for pho is kinda far. Their broth is good, noodle soft, meat tasty and large portions! When I came here with a coworker (first timer), he ordered a large and I a small. The lady brought out my "small" and he was commented "I think that's mine." Exceptionally large portions alright. This is also one of the few pho places that I finish all the meat in my Pho Tai Nam Bo Vien. I usually leave some of the nam and bo vien left but here at Pho Saigon, it's devoured! Definitely try this place and avoid the one across the street. Plus it opens late!
Maybe it's because I haven't eaten pho at a restaurant for awhile, but this sure did satisfy me. Normally I go to Pho Y (#1). But recently I've been in North San Jose a lot. My friends and I actually decided to go to Pho Mai near by first, but then a friend of ours told us about this new place. The decor was pretty nice although nothing really stood out. It was pretty clean, and about half the room was filled on this Friday night at 8:30pm.
I ordered what I would normally order at any other Pho place. Large Pho Tai (beef) with the uncooked meat on a separate dish. I like to squeeze lemon on the uncooked meat and put the meat in the soup as I eat each bite since I like to let the acids from the lemon cook it a bit and eat it relatively rare. I'll tell you this....they do not skimp on noodles or meat. Thats always a huge plus. Broth was delicious, and noodles were not soggy. There's pretty much nothing I can complain about. I believe for a large bowl its 6.25? 6.75? I forgot. Either one...definitely got my moneys worth. We ended up staying there awhile even after all of us finished our meals. We actually had a pretty interesting debate going on being the nerds that we are. They actually refilled our waters when about half of us finished the cup. Hate to stereotype but....decent customer service for an Asian establishment. Would definitely recommend this place, and come back for a 2nd visit.
One suggestion though...get rid of the power rangers episode and stick to news/sports hahaha.
Their pho is decent. They give good portions for a large bowl of pho. Their pork vermicelli was pretty good as well. Their prices are very reasonable so for what you pay for, it's worth it. I also like how they have tvs here so you can catch a game or something while eating. Food was brought out at a reasonable time and the waitress was nice. The only problem I had was the cleanliness. I guess this is a problem with most pho restaurants?
Tasty and makes me so happy theres another option besides dennys open late
Pho at 2 am. Yay. and by far one of the cleanest bathrooms Ive ever been in.
This place is a go to spot for me. Love that they are open late. The food is great most of the time, the food is always flavorful. Just remember when ordering spring rolls... Spring rolls are the fresh ones and egg rolls are fried lol we have made that mistake plenty times haha. The pho broth is always flavorful and never watered down. The only gripe I can think of is that it's cash only, but not a big deal they have an atm there.
Pho Saigon is my family's pho spot now. The prices are comparable to Pho Mai's and Kim Long's but the portions are like Kim Long's. We definitely love the pho, pho ap chao and vermicelli bowls. I would definitely recommend Pho Saigon. It's #1 and we should know. We order to go and eat in at least once a week.
The ladies that work there know us by face. That's how often we go :) The restaurant is always clean and service is always friendly.
I just found this place 2 mos. ago - didn't want to review until I had a few bowls to average out the take on the place. Turns out....the PHO was GREAT all the time. 5th trips for that matter. Hence a 5 star rating...each trip that was beyond better than average, earned 1 star. Plus, they open late - GREAT...I work late. Variety of dishes...awesome - I will need a change-up soon. They sell mixed up smoothies and fruit drinks...not to mention Vietnamese coffee...WHAT A KICK! Try this place once and see for yourself.
Best pho place in milpitas. Yummy food and fast service.
The best pho spot in milpitas ....returning customer,,,taste really really good
I had the hu tieu here and it was pretty good. Just a bit salty, but what noodle soups aren't? My mom had the pho and she liked hers as well. Very cheap and open super late. Cash only.
This is the place I go to when I am craving late night vietnamese food. It's rare to find restaurants opened till 3 am! Their grilled beef/pork vermicelli noodle, pho, steak dish, spring rolls, beef stew are quite tasty. I don't like their seafood egg noodle, too sweet. Try their vermicelli with grilled beef wrapped around grilled onions. Yummy!!
This place is open until 3 am . If pho Mai ever gets to crowded, you cam jet set across the street for this place. Food is good and price isn't bad. But one fall back like almost every Asian restaurant this place is CASH ONLY . but there is an ATM machine inside. They serve pho and also Tung Kee Style Noodles. It's clean and spacious. Has a big flat screen and designated men/ woman's restrooms.(clean) many variety of porridges to choose from. Couple different style of chow meing and chow fun. The portion size are big and well worth it .
This is a great place to go if you are looking for a really late night eat. Open till 3am this is the place that cures the empty stomach after all the bar hopping.
I tried the seafood porridge - it was good! The bill came out higher than we expected - perhaps we failed to check the totals.
If you want authentic Vietnamese food, you go to the right place. The food is great, fair price and ok service. Definitely will come back again and again.
Great PHO Noodle House!
I've been to so many Pho places and this definitely makes it on the top of my best list. It is very clean and the service was great. How many Pho places do you know where someone actually came to see how you were doing during your meal? Well, during my meal they actually came over to see if I was Okay. I was really taken back by that because I've never had that happen anywhere else.
There are a lot of choices on the menu, but being me I always go for a typical #1 order and it was good. I liked that it didn't seem like your typical Pho place with Vietnamese shows on their televisions. When I was there they had cartoons playing on one of their LCD TV's.
Also, they have awesome spoons that hook onto the bowl so it won't fall in. That was a definite plus. I will definitely be returning.
This is my favorite pho place in the south bay! The broth is always hot and very flavorful. I always get the large bowl, and always get a good ratio of meat and noodles. I still have yet to try the other dishes they serve here but I'm always craving pho! Service is pretty quick and food is valued at a good price. Another plus is that this place is open as late as 3am on the weekends and 2am on weekdays. From my experience I definitely recommend this place over Pho Mai 1 across the street. They served me room temperature broth and basically just a bowl of noodles.. :(
I'm going to echo the other reviewers and say... the portions here are so generous! Not only that, but the rice plates we ordered were on point with the portions of veggies/flavoring for the most part. The beef itself in the Bo Luc Lac dish wasn't soft, but they flavored it perfectly along with the tomato-laced rice and gave us lots of fresh veggies. Korean beef ribs were by far softer and perfectly seasoned. The Chao (porridge soup) was great too.
We came on a Saturday night around 8 or 9 at night, and patrons were still coming in by the dozen, but plenty of parking spaces were available in the front of the shop.
Had a Pho craving so my boyfriend and I drove here at midnight. When they brought out the Pho I was thinking "wow these bowls are huge! It probably taste bad" cause it's hard to get quantity and quality with pho. But boy was I wrong! It was really good!
Overall good food, good portion size, clean place, nice customer service. Definitely coming back!
I'm glad this place took over the old Pho Hoa. It's close to home and it's open late (2AM) so when it gets past 9pm its a perfect spot.
The Pho is great. The broth is not too oily and has good flavor. The portions are a good size and a small usually does it for me.
I'm going through the menu each time I go and below is a run down.
Pho: Great as I said above.
Pot stickers: thicker skin for those who like that. looks and tastes home made. Would get again
Spring rolls: Average
Spring Rolls with that meat shavings : Not digging it, just way too dry.
Rice with Chicken: You get leg and its very tasty.
All the servers are friendly and it feels very clean and not "oily" like a lot of Pho places.
Again very happy its here!
I have been here around 8 times so far, and the experience has always been great. It is very clean inside and they also have two huge TVs on the walls for you to watch (which is a plus).
Fast service, cheap prices, huge food quantities, open late at night... what more can you ask for?
Great Pho, open late, I come here a lot after Alo.
The portions are great and the broth is bomb, I've been a big fan of Pho Mai for quite a while and I'll admit, this place won me over. Plus it's a lot cleaner than Pho Mai, open just as late. The price range is typical for Pho joints in the south bay, The rice dishes here are pretty damn good, if you want the broken rice, make sure you're clear about it, otherwise they just give you regular white rice. The only down side to this place compared to Pho Mai is they only take cash.
I love this place. I haven't gone in a while but whenever my boyfriend and I go there, we always are treated well. Auntie and Uncle are the best. I love eating there shrimp broccoli/ beef broccoli over rice and having my avocado shake. Oooo I'm craving for this place now.
i come here at 3 AM so i give it 5 stars just for that. The pho is dope. when you been drinking, being at a pho joint is the best feeling in the world.
this place is FREAKIN awesome ! other than they put tv channel that i dont understand but it doesnt matter to me.
open till 2am ? thats perfect for me because i get off work at 11 pm and its only couple exits away from my job. also i crave for pho ALOT
workers are very nice. there is always this lady that greets everyone, she never really remember me by me but by other people lol i been there more than 5 times but its okay. that doesnt bother me as long as i have my pho.
the spoon ? great idea ! dont need to worry about your spoon sinking to the bowl . very smart . everytime i come to this place, i leave happy :) and full :) thats a PLUS !
Definatly comig back in the lateee night :)
First Pho place I've been to in the North San Jose area. Went for a late dinner on a sunday evening (~10pm) and the place was still rather busy - always a good sign.
Large bowl was about $7 and surprisingly larger than I expected, a great portion size. I think if I hadn't been so hungry I would have had trouble finishing it.
For a Pho restaurant it was rather spacious and well-kept. Seemed really clean.
Small flatscreen TV on the side was showing some sports highlights.
Nice local place that is open late at night, a plus since most places seem to close very early in the area.
No 5th star because the service was curt and not particularly friendly - not rude, just not particularly friendly. A good Pho place, the first of many I hope to try in the area.
Great place for pho! I love how they're open until 3AM so you can satisfy that pho craving if you're out late and hungry. Their portions for their pho are pretty good as well as the quality of it so I'm always coming back at least once a week. Love this place, I'd advise anyone to give it a try if you're craving pho or just hungry in general.
Man this place is so bomb. The broth is delicious and I love coming here. I took my uncle to this place since he wanted pho but he came from out of the country to visit us. Definitely one of the best places I've been to. It's all thanks to my friend for showing me this place. If you come here, try out the broth without any seasonings or sauce. It's so amazing I swear...I would give this place 10000/10 stars if I could! The service is really courteous too.
Soooooo this is my new favorite pho restaurant in the bay area!! My friend introduced this place to me last week and I have already been here 5 times!! um err yah.. anyways, the restaurant is really nice and more modern looking than most pho places in San Jose. The service is pretty quick too.. no need to fiddle around and wonder they are going to stop by your table to take your order.
I do want to warn you their portions are pretty big compared to other pho places. So order with precaution... you have been warned! Anyways I love love love the pho here, but I can never finish because their small huge. The reason I like the pho here is the broth, I try the both before I put in my usual lemon... sriracha and hoison sauce. Was pretty impress how decent the broth was. I always leave this place a happy customer :) Go and check this place out!
Formerly Pho Hoa and under new management. I recently got take-out here and the beef pho is pretty good. The servings are large and they give a lot of meat. The prices are excellent!
I ordered 2 big bowls of pho and one small bowl of pho to-go....it was $17 and some change with the 20% off promo!
OK people. I'm becoming somewhat of a Pho connoisseur, so believe me when I say this place has AWESOME pho.
I've been here multiple times over the past 3 years or so and the broth in their pho is very flavorful and delicious, and not too salty. You definitely get what you pay for, with their large portions (I can rarely finish the small), and there is always plenty of meat.
I always get spring rolls here; they are cheaper than all of the other pho spots I've been to, $3.25 for two rolls I believe. The rolls are always yummy and their peanut sauce is nice and thick. (Some places serve very thin/watery peanut sauce with no flavor- nasty!).
Service: Generally good service. The staff is not overly nice but they definitely aren't rude. I feel comfortable there and never rushed.
4 star (instead of 5) because:
- tried one other dish on their menu and it was not good at all (some noodle dish with seafood, sorry I don't remember the name)
-tried 2 drinks -Thai iced tea w/ pearls and some smoothie - both were pretty gross. The Thai tea was salty and warm. (I know right, who does that??) and the smoothie was wayyyy overly sweet. And I like sweet stuff so I was blown away. Not in the good way.
Summary: If you love good pho, come here. If you are cultured and actually know other Vietnamese food besides pho, well I can't help you out cuz pho is all I know. Good luck!
Very standard fare for a pho place. Cheap (ok maybe not as cheap as Kim Long), decent service (slightly better than Kim Long) but IMO tastes better than Kim Long. They are not afraid to use fatty cuts of beef which makes their broth taste great.
Good food. Good price. Open late!!!
Everything I've had so far was good. Better than Pho Mai.
#80 is my favorite :) pan fried chicken over red fried rice
The food is pretty good here. I had the cube steak, my sis had a vermicelli combo, and my dad and bro got some spicy combo soup and everyone liked their food.
The place is clean. They have 2 TVs which were playing basketball which I enjoyed...instead of some vietnamese show that I couldnt understand like some places do.
A lady actually came by to check once if everything was ok. That like never happens to me when I get pho. Maybe its because we were calling for her earlier and she came to check so we wouldnt call her a 2nd time. who knows?
The only downfall of this place is that its cash only. Ill be going here for pho in Milpitas from now on.
Me and some friends went here late at night around 12am and to our surprise it was SO GOOD! Not only is it open late so everyone can enjoy it but their pho was super amazing! I had number 29, the seafood with clear noodles and it was one of the best I have ever had. You must try! Not only is it delicious but it came in huge portions too. They have this really delicious spicy sauce that they give you too in a metal container and it is very unique because usually there is just siracha and hoisin sauce. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 star was because the service wasn't all that great. The pho came out rather slow but it was well worth the wait.
Came here on a drunken night! we usually go to Pho Mai since its one of the few late night pho spots. But our friend suggested this place. Damn did it hit the spot! The broth is very flavorful! I dont remember it much though since we were all pretty buzzin... will have to come back and check it out again. Reminder: its cash only!
My fianc & I are usually regulars at pho mai which is across the st. but our friend who was with us this time suggested pho saigon. I love the late hours, my fianc is a professional tattoo artist so we close really late. It looks nice inside & has a lot of room not like the usual pho restaurants that have tables too close together. Im giving it 4 stars because the food was delicious but they dont have too much to choose from. Also when I was eating I found a plastic wrapper I'm guessing from the noodle wrap. Other than that the service is pretty good, and prices are cheaper.
After shopping till we drop during the holiday season, the BFF and I were starving. It was close to 11 p.m . and she wanted Pho! I was like" I don't think any Vietnamese restaurant is going to be open around this time" but told her to Yelp! it. Out comes Pho Saigon as one of the options and we headed there.
When we first got at the plaza, I was like "Hey look! There's Max's Chicken and there's Goldilocks! but too bad they're closed" This place is not too far off from the BF's house and now I have a place I can send him to to fetch me my Vietnamese soup at a late hour.
There wasn't too many people when we came in and was happy to see that they serve our usual orders which is the seafood pho with the yellow noodle and I had the vermicelli plate with the bbq pork chop. I was also happy to see that they serve vegetarian fried egg rolls. Not a lot of place serve those these days. I think they taste better than the regular egg rolls.
I was pleasantly surprised that the hostess/owner was friendly and funny. She tried to make jokes with us which was a nice change. Most Vietnamese restaurants hosts/owner don't even try to talk to you and just mind their own business or go in the back and hide.
This place is open till wee hours so if you're coming back from the club, or shopped at Valley Fair and Eastridge and is on 680, this is the place to go. There's also plenty of parking and it's right off the freeway.
Good Pho for a cold late night. Hits the spot. Was getting the later it got, but the service was quick.
Great late night pho, and good service. If you're looking for late night pho in our hood go here over Pho Mai. Although if you want late night beers after the club to to Pho Mai, haha.
great little pho place, however, good service can be hit or miss however that is most likely due to how busy they get and a language barrier... never been disappointed with food... theyre now open till 3am so if you spend a night in the city its a great stop on the way home.
3.5 stars for being open late, clean, and quick. Food is pretty tasty, but the menu lacks selection (especially when compared to Pho Mai across the street).
I was nursing a hang over on Saturday and opted for BBH instead of my usual pho ga. My hubby order the same thing while the kids had the crispy yellow noodles and split a large beef ball soup.
The food is always good along with service. My hubby & I have had BBH at 3 other Pho restaurants. All except Pho Saigon put the shrimp paste on the side along with the chili peppers they give. My hubby is not a fan of shrimp paste and prefer to eat BBH without it but he was a good sport and ate his soup :)
We didn't like the BBH at Pho Saigon. The blood cakes had no flavor. The soup was okay. We're still fans and will continue to come for the pho ap chao, crispy yellow noodles, roast duck soup and pho.
Great pho! I always get their pho ga. i love how it opens late since i always get hungry at night hehe.
Their broth isn't that good, but their beef broccoli, crispy chow mein, steak macaroni, pho, and Che are all good.
diz my spot they take the card now I ate #30 bae had #27 I had young coconut we had spring rolls it was good. diet coke is good always too
I am going to give this place a 5 star because this is my favorite Pho Restaurant! Their portion is by far the largest! With tons and tons of meat. The service is also fantastic for a Pho Restaurant. The owner lady is very generous and always gives me random discounts since she sees me there often. They open till 12pm during the weekdays and 3pm on the weekends. The place is big so feel free to bring ALL YOUR FRIENDS. I lala Love it! :)
P.S. DO NOT GO TO PHO MAI ACROSS THE ST. They have hella bugs and their service is HORRIBLE!! Ive been living in Milpitas over 19 years I would know!!
This place is the best! We have been regulars for awhile now and it always hits the spot! Sooo good!
The only Pho place in the area i know thats open this late - 3am!
I mostly stick to the Pho, sometimes other stuff and the occasional bubble drinks. The food is pretty good. Pho is good, broth is very flavorful and portions are huge. Staff is friendly
And did i mention they are open pretty late.
Came her midnight on Saturday, it was poppin
Order: Chicken PHO - large, cheap, tasty
Crispy chicken- it was crispy, and good.. the "fried" rice tasted like Mexican rice
The pho noodle here is pretty good! The broth is flavorful and they give you a lot of meat!
This is my go-to Asian restaurants when i'm in the area and craving Vietnamese food. Thank you for always being open late so that i can satisfy my food cravings when they kick in at ungodly hours of the night!
Serves your usual pho, rice plates and other misc common Vietnamese dishes. Workers there are very nice and quick to serve you. Downside is that they accept cash only although there's an ATM conveniently located in the corner. It gets pretty busy but never been extremely busy that you'd have to stand and wait for a table, at least not for any of the times i've been there. They have 2 large tvs where they usually play the news or sports games as well.
They're open super late! Yay!
So my friends and I happen to go to the gym very late at night on the weekends and this is our usual stop before heading home! *Sigh* This explains why I haven't lost much weight! T_T
Anyways, the pho is very good! Their soup has that perfect savory, msg-filled flavor (what else do you expect =] ) with tons and tons of meat. The portion is huge. Their small size bowl is actually larger than a large size bowl of other places and the cool thing is the price is just the same!!
I've recently became a vegetarian and their vegan crispy stir-fried noodle didn't disappoint either!
love this place...it's open til 3am sure beats Denny's!
Won Best of Milpitas 2012 baby! This is my joint to grub!
I hate to say this but Pho Saigon is waaaay better than Pho Mai across the street. Even though I feel like I'm betraying P.Mai because I've been such a loyal customer in the past.. It's heartbreaking. Lol..
But what do you want from me?!!!
I'm the kind of gal who likes to get more bang for your buck, yannoe!!?
And P.Saigon has bigger bowls, bomb ass vermicelli, and better utensils!! Their spoons hook onto the bowl, and they are NOT metal. Haha.
Mmm.. #34 if you like seafood pho with combo noodles like me! *drool*
they have other plates as well, but known for their Pho.
Pho here is sometimes good and sometimes not.
Sometimes the soup could be bland but sometimes has hella flavor.
Pho is Pho
I love Pho Saigon. We've been coming here for years. The broth is very tasty and the service has always been quick and servers are nice. We've had the rolls, rice plates, bun, and pho, all are great. The only downside is sometimes they run out so make sure you have plan b ready. Also a downside is the amount of meat is usually smaller than other pho restaurants but because the food is very tasty we keep coming back. They take credit card and is open until late.
I've had my fair share of Pho in the South Bay and I'd have to say one of my favorite places is Pho Saigon. The place is decently large for a Vietnamese quick bite. The service is quick as it should be in case people don't know. Vietnamese food, especially pho restaurants, should not only be good but the service should be fast and efficient, and I don't mean typical American places with conversations. Just order, eat, pay, and walk out a happy camper.
Pho Saigon's noodle bowls are great. Just the right amount of brothy goodness with sensational flavors. The aroma speaks of a great morning pickup and the noodles and meat collaborate in the soup to forcefully enhance a warm and succulent meal. The Mi is also great there. Only thing that I wouldn't recommend going there for would be rice plates. It lacks in flavor and amount. Definitely not their strong suit but that's why it's called a Noodle House. Highly reccomend going here and grabing yourself a great hot bowl of Vietnamese Noodles.
I always come here for my pho fix. number 2 rare steak with a add on of meat balls.
i once made the mistake by going to another pho down the street or across the street because it was closer. thats like picking mcdonalds over cheese cake factory haha. jkjk this place is just the right taste for me.
Pho Saigon Noodle House is similar to any other pho restaurants around the bay area, however, the late night hours , cheap pricing, and wide food selection make up for a good place to dine at.
Hours: This place opens late (2 AM) so its a great place to go if you have cravings late at night. It is especially great for all you party animals out there that need some pho after excessive drinking and partying.
Food: Wide selection of Pho, noodles, traditional Vietnamese dishes and drinks. The food portion here isn't bad as well.
Clean: Most pho places are dirty small cramped areas where the utensils are rarely washed. This place however is pretty cleaned compared with the other pho restaurants around the bay area.
Service: Attentive and pretty friendly. Most servers in a Vietnamese restaurant will rarely refill your water unless asked but this place seems to do it without asking.
Price: A large pho noodle is about $7.50 and a small $6.45 which is pretty good if your under a budget and want something warm to eat. The other dishes all come lower than $10.
Crowd: It can get packed during peak hours.
Food Quality: Pho here is pretty good, but the other noodle dishes is lacking in flavor.
Overall Pho Saigon Noodle House is a great place to fulfill your late night craving. The wide selection and relatively cheap price makes up for a great place to go if your under a budget. Great place to go during a cold day to get something warm in your tummy.
Nice place to go to after you finish drinking for the night. The staff accommodates for all different types of drunk retards. You're either making a lot of noise or want to fight everyone on sight.
Please throw up outside the restaurant.
MY FAVORITE PHO PLACE EVER!
I have been here so many times before and NEVER once had bad service or bad food. The first thing I love most about this place is the hours. Since my bf and I have very different schedules its always hard to find a place still open when we get a chance to finally sit down and have dinner together. Second would definitely have to be the food. Like any other Vietnamese restaurant they have all of the basics and for you newer people getting introduced to Vietnamese food they have pictures for you so you can visually pick out what you want to eat. Whenever my boyfriend and I go we always get a bowl of pho, korean bbq over rice, taro cake, and pearl drinks. I always get the korean bbq because it is DELICIOUS! My mouth is already watering just thinking about it. The food is very fresh too. I recommend trying one or more of the 4 things I've suggested.
Third, is the layout of the restaurant. The restaurant is a pretty decent size and they have a very good amount of tables and chairs. I've managed to walk in with a group of 10+ people and still be accommodated right away. There has never been an instance where I've had to wait for seating and they are usually pretty packed. Which brings me to my fourth reason, service. The service is quick and efficient. They bring you water right away and even after they take your order they are still around to help you. Not like other places where once you get your order you fend for yourself if you want any extras.
This place is overall really great and I have been to many other Pho places in the area and have been turned off either by bad service or bad food. This place will always be my number one Pho place.
One of newest favorite Pho places, the quality of the pho is great! Very clean and spacious environment. I love it!
I don't see how anyone can give this place any less then 5 stars. I came in for my first on a Saturday night around 9 o'clock to place a take out order. I was only there maybe 10 minutes, and I could strongly sense their phenomenal customer service! They are amazing! I ordered a shrimp and vegetable rice plate, and it was very good! There was a nice sauce with the vegetables and I really like the rice that they serve. I'll definitely come here again.
I like this place! Brand spanking new and clean for a Vietnamese restaurant!...well, it better be since it's new.
I was on my way heading to Minh's almost next door, when I saw it's Grand Opening sign with 20% off noodle soups. I thought sure why not, since it's not like I had a contract with Minh's and times are tough nowadays, so 20% off is better than nothing. It's worth a try at least.
They are located in the same mall as the new Seasons mall. Parking is not an issue with it's private lot. The interior was very clean and new. The floors were not sticky to my shoes. The menus are still clean, not covered with grease and nastiness yet. There was also a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. The male waiter that served us was nice and soft-spoken. There were also a couple other male waiters and a lady cashier which spoke Vietnamese, Cantonese, and English. She was friendly to everyone. I went around 2pm so it was rather late for lunch on a Sunday, but nevertheless, they still had a good amount of business flow.
I ordered my usual rare steak noodle soup with the beef on a side plate in small, which was only $5.95. I was surprise how cheap it was!...I don't think I have seen many places in the south bay that were less than $6.95 for a small bowl! The large bowl was a dollar more. I did appreciate that they had a kids' size too, I think it was $3.99. Btw...it's a cash only restaurant.
My food came out within ten minutes, which is the average time for Pho. Anything longer is consider not acceptable to my standards, I had a time when I had to wait over half an hr! My noodle soup came in a big white (and CLEAN) ceramic bowl with lotsa hot steam from the broth. The side of rare beef looked really fresh, the meat was thinly sliced and had a good portion. The presentation was up to par....unlike some places that literally looked like they through all the the ingredients in the bowl. The soup was really tasty. Obviously there was MSG in it, but it isn't too bad, not crazy salty. The steak was really tender cooked in the soup. I thought it was heavenly.
I think this will be the spot for me to go to when I want some Pho, it's about 15 mins from my house and there are things on the menu that I wanna try, esp the chicken noodle soup and beef stew noodle soup. I really tried to think of something negative but there wasn't anything for me to complain about. So, that's definitely a good thing. I'm sure I will be back! :)
Coming in several times after a long day at the offices at flex, I came to eat dinner around 8pm. I ordered the most delicious and fresh food at this time. A good crowd of people, great atmosphere, very friendly service to my kids, (made us feel like family, gave kids suckers). I highly recommend the fresh vegetables, food, and friendly atmosphere. I never write reviews, so if you like a later night restaurant that's open until 2 am, you found the right place...
I tried their Pho do bien chua cay. It was pretty good.
The portion is big here.
The restaurant is clean and new.
I love getting #2, #34 and getting spring rolls!! Best quality of pho I've experienced and it's very affordable! My go to pho spot!
CASH ONLY- ATM inside but there's a wellsfargo down the street.
Clean pho place, decent pho and pretty good Vietnamese coffee.
Service was alright, I mean don't come to a pho place and expect that they will wait on you every minute.
Order, food comes out, pay at the counter and leave.
Closes at 3pm, competition with Pho Mai across the street. I would definitely recommend this pho place if you prefer cleanness.
Located in the Seafood City plaza across the Burger King, Pho Saigon offers a very delicious bowl of happiness for a very good price. The vermicelli is just the way I like it: doesn't fall apart, not too pain like at TK noodles, the broth is at that prime level where you actually want to finish it rather than let them dump it. I haven't tried anything other than Pho in this joint, but I love how they open so late at night and how fast the food comes out after you order it. The only thing that I would change is their "Cash only" policy. Pho Tai Bo vien all the way!
This is definitely the place to go after a night of drinking. I came here at 2 AM with at least 10 other people and this place was packed. The servers did their best to fit us in, although we did have to split into two different tables.
I normally don't like pho, but I actually finished my entire bowl for once. I'm not sure if it was good or if I was just really out of it, though. Judging from the other reviews, it was probably good.
I love the pho here! It's cheap and the bowl is huge! It's $5.95 for a small bowl but the bowl is huge! It's also open really late which is a plus because every year my family and I always head here once we land from our trip since it's the only place that is open late at night. What a great way to come home from a trip and feeling jet lagg with a nice big bowl of pho! We have been coming here since it open and we will continue to come here when we are craving pho!
Went here a couple of times for the Pho and the Hu Tieu. In my opinion, the Hu Tieu is the winner. The broth is very flavorful, lost of meat, and theres this fried shrimp cake that comes with it. Very similar to the chinese donut. If you go to this place, I highly recommend the Hu Tieu over anything else. All other items are just normal but the Hu Tieu stands out as the clear favorite!
One big plus is that this place opens very late, around 3am every night. For those late night cravings, this would be the spot. Forget Dennys...
We loooooove this place!
Our favorite pho place ever!
We live in east side sj and always make the drive to eat pho here becasue it's sooo great.
Prices are normal pho prices, but the pho bowls are soooo much bigger. A small pho bowl here would be a large at any other pho place. The portions are ginormous!
I specifically love their rice plates. They're always so yummy.
Service here is great. Super fast and they're always really nice.
I also love that they're open super late!
I beleive they're open till 2am on weekdays and until 3am if not later on Fridays and Saturdays! :)
Four stars for opening late at night and being one of the better pho places at 1 am. Generous portions. Decent pricing. Clean, well lit. Fast service. Friendly service.
I'm not sure if I'd go here during the day time and had all the time in the world to pick a pho place. I rather go to Pho Y (not the one on Concourse).
Food is an A++++++++++ and the employees are always so happy! I love this place, especially since they stay open until 3 am and take debit/credit for any price.
Food came out quickly and loved the food (#62) wish the meal came with side of soup like other places. They are now open til 2AM!
Thank you for being open late and for being nice. Also, thank you for having AMAZING EGG ROLLS! They are the best I've had in the bay... ever!
Pho to me is pho. It's either good and not edible and their pho is good. The service is not bad, other than that utterly attractive (sarcasm) cart they push around the whole time to clean off the tables. I understand it's the easiest way, but when it's not that busy, is it completely necessary?
I'll still come for the egg rolls.
Yummy in my tummy!
Came here after hearing so much about it and seeing all the Yelp pictures. My first time, I got the hu tieu dai dac biet which was the clear chewy noodles and today, I got the hu tieu mi dac diet which have both rice and egg noodle. I've always been a fan of hu tieu dai so there are no complaints here for that. Didn't care too much for the white rice noodles so I think I'll try the mi dac diet next time. The broth is full of flavor but was a little salty for me today. It comes with 2 shrimps, a few piece of imitation crab, pork, fish balls and my favorite, shrimp cake! Not bad for a quick lunch. For about $7/bowl and quick service, I can't complain at all.
The service is nice and patient for a pho joint that opens late. It's no hu tieu ba nam sadec from Vung Tau but I can settle for this. Remember to bring cash because it's cash only!
Very pleased with this place, especially since it's open late. Ordered a small and I could barely finish it! Lol a lot of food for a very affordable price.
Ate here with a few old co workers. I ordered my usual that I get at any pho place pho tai vo vien (meat seperate). The broth wasn't bad, there's still msg, but theres msg at almost all places. The bowls here are HUGE! Almost comparable to the ones at Pho Kim Long (another favorite place in this area). I ordered a small and it's like a large at most places.
The inside is really clean and everything is new. What's awesome about this place is that they're open til 2 and 3 on the the weekend party days! The only other options for late night pho would be lee noodle house or pho mai across the street. This place is better than pho mai! Anyone that knows pho, knows that pho mai's pho is wack. This place has a lot of variety in food too, lots of rice dishes, other soup specials that I'll try later on.
The staff was very friend too. We were the last to pay for our food in the restaurant and they talked to us and asked us questions about how they can improve the place, and the folks were really nice.
Overall thumbs up for good food, being open late, and friendly staff!
Very clean compared to other pho restaurants. Great food. Great service. Short a star only because they don't come to check up on you. Other than that, great place to recommend for pho.
Open late night, hella good esp after a late night outing :)
They only accept cash but they do have an ATM machine there if you happen to go there without any. Food is good and the service is quick, can't go wrong. Did I mention it's open late nights :)
For a late night Pho, this is definitly the spot to go to in Milipitas. WAY better than settling with Pho Hau ( yuck) My Husband and I are from the bay area and now live in the Modesto area so of course when ever we are down in the bay area, we make sure to get our pho fix.
We arrived at 10:45pm and were greeted with smiles and offered any table. We were not rushed as some places can be super rude when you wanna browse thru there menu. We ordered our late dinner and it didnt take long at all. Even though the restaurant was starting to fill up. ( saturday night Dave and Buster's folks maybe? lol)
I base my review on taste, taste, taste!! AND that is what really matters right? The broth was HOT and so flavourfull!! We both ordered the Beef pho. Mine with tendon, tripe and fatty steak and my husband iwht fatty steak and brisket. YUMMY!!!
Portion sizes for the prices were very reasonable. He had the large and I had the regular. Enough broth AND noodles to fill us up and leave us very satisfied.
There spring rolls were good, very minty the way I like'em and Fresh!! Hubby ordered the tai tea and wasnt to happy with it. A little to chalky but really that is our ONLY complanint! .
We then ordered a togo meal of the porkchops and rice for my sis in law and again..YUMMY!! perfect portion size of the pork chop, tender and again FLAVOR FULL!!! could have had a tad bit more rice, but Im filipino and I love me some rice..lol
Definitly will come back!! esepcially since they are open till 3am friday and saturday. and 2am Sunday- thursday.
I say give the place a try. Nothing wrong with getting your pho fix. Especially when its GOOD, and open late :-D
Not bad! Pho Saigon is clean and the pho is tasty.
At first, we were skeptical since it was nearly empty.
But the strong MSG pho made it all worth every penny.
Can you believe it, they also have two widescreen HDTV.
They carry all sorts of drinks and even my favorite milktea.
So is Pho Saigon really Vietnamese? 'Cause they even carry diet Pepsi.
Ok, now can someone please bail me out, this place is CASH ONLY!
Five stars for their bomb ass bun thit nuong. That was the first time I ordered that dish and good thing it didn't let me down. Came here really late at night after watching a live game of the golden state warriors losing to the pacers. Usually people try to avoid these kinds of dishes at that time because most of their customers would be people that just came out the club, looking for drunk food. Tried other things as well such as their hu tieu seafood soup and its alright, nothing special on the flavors. Other than that, great place to go for those who can't sleep and in need of that midnight snack or if you want to try something new.
You don't go to Pho places for the customer service.
Pros: Open till 3am. Fast service and good food. Plenty of tables
Cons: Can get crowded after 12pm since they are one of the only places open past that time. CASH ONLY.
I've never ordered anything here besides the Dac Biet - Combo! For me, there is absolutely no need to! Pho Saigon became one of my favorite pho spots instantly after I tasted their broth. The broth is amazing. It's so tasty and flavorful, I sometimes forget to add the extra add-ons into my soup! The noodles and meats are always prepared nicely and just add that extra umph of deliciousness!
Their spoons are so wonderful! I always hate when my spoon tries to go for a swim once I stop paying attention to it! With that handy hook incorporated into the soup spoon I am no able to avoid this disaster!
Their prices are super reasonable and affordable! The restaurant is always clean! I've never had a bad experience at Pho Saigon, that's why it's one of my favorites!
Craving pho in the middle of the night, my friends and I raced over to Pho Saigon Noodle House. Open until 3 AM everyday.
We really didn't know what to expect, but this place is pretty legit for late night pho. The lady working the cash register was super sweet, had this big smile on her face the whole time. The place wasn't packed, but there were definitely a good number of people eating there late night.
The service was REALLY fast. I don't think service has ever been that fast at a pho place. We seriously got our food within 3 minutes of ordering. The small order of pho at this place ends up being pretty large, so you won't feel cheated if you order a small one.
With tax, the total for a small bowl of pho is $6.50.
This place is also pretty close to the freeway and there is tons of parking.
Have a Pho craving, go to Pho Saigon. Quick service and good food!
Open till 2am or later, great for after drinking food :)
My usual is #1 Small (Pho with everything) and Vietnamese spring rolls.
I work close by, so I try to get there between 11:30-12 to avoid the traffic and heavy lunch crowd.
Great place for your late night munchies! They're open until 3AM! Came here around midnight and the place was packed even at this hour and groups kept coming in. Food came quick and it was delicious.
Good Midnight snack!
Place opens late and pretty busy. However, never had to wait here at all.
Best part of Pho Saigon is how clean the food and tables are for a late night pho joint. Much better than Pho Mai across the street.
I got the Dac Biet, which is the combo mixed with everything in there. Very good deal and there were a lot of meats in there.
Overall, the place isn't too pricey, clean, and very generous with their portions. Can't really ask for much more at a Pho place.
Just have to remember its cash only, only draw back (hence the 4 stars)
The noodles here are pretty good. It is opened late, and which is awesome when I get late-night munchies. I usually get hu tieu (thick white noodles) with my noodle soup.
The service here is not bad, but sometimes it does feel like they are rushing you. But overall, the food is good and the place is clean!
Their pho ap chao is delicious here! Although it takes a little longer to make than most dishes, it's absolutely my favorite! I also really enjoy their com tam with grilled pork and shrimp although they can be a little stingy with their meat because their pork portion is a little small. This place gets pretty packed on Sundays and after hours.
Always come here late at night. Most of the time I get pho. Sometimes I don't get anything and just drunkenly stare at the weird colored walls. The pho is good. Interesting crowd at certain times of night. But everyone is having a good time and minding their own business. Come see where the scum of Milpitas go to get their pho fix past midnight hahah
5 stars--Clean, quick, cheap and yummy!
The broth in the pho is good and tasty and the small is a good size--not too big and not too small. What I also like about this place, as opposed to other pho restaurants, is that their spoons have a little hook on the tip so that they don't fall into the bowl (see picture)! Something so small as that makes such a big difference! :D
Pho used to be semi hard not soft but its been good last several times I went. I don't get headaches and dehydration unlike some other pho places so don't seem to be flooded with salt and msg. Taste pretty good. Good portion. Good service.
I personally fail as a bay area native because I didn't know about this place. Want a good, warm meal past midnight? Come on over, buddy.
They even have Filipino breakfast! I tried the pho, which was pretty good and not too big (but I was starving, so I didn't think it was enough). Plus, everything is pretty cheapie, what more could you want?
For the price and the long late night hours and the good flavour of their broth, it is a place I go often when i think of Pho.
Best Vietnamese food in the milpitas area. This place is great when you are hungry at night as well since it closes at 3. I come for the pho, hu tieu, and rice plates.
I dont know if anybody notices this but their spoons for soup bowls are awesome. They have it so you can rest the spoon on the bowl without it falling in. Its pretty annoying to have your spoon fall into the soup and this prevents it.
Nice clean restaurant with nice ceramic bowls and cool soup spoons that hook onto the edge of your bowl ;) now my spoons don't go swimming into my broth anymore!
The grand opening promotion must've taken a good chunk of profit from them because each time we come here the lady here always tries to upsell. Here's a typical convo with her:
Lady: You ready to order?
Us: Yes, we'll have two number 1's, one small and one large.
Lady: Anything else to eat?
Lady: How about some eggrolls, 6 pieces for one order? *flips page to item on menu*
Us: Hmmmm, no thats okay.
Lady: How about spring rolls?
Us: *Shakes head*
Lady: Anything to drink?
Us: Just water and hot tea please.
Lady: How about coconut juice?
Us: No thank you.
Lady: How about thai tea?
Us: *exchanging glances* No, no... Just water and tea.
Lady: *turns on her heel and takes the menus with her*
Us: *Silently relieved while holding in a chuckle*
We've tried the Bo Luc Lac plate and the Bun Bo Hue. Sadly those two both left something to be desired so next time I'll stick to just ordering the pho from now on.
Best pho and Hu Tieu after midnight around here. Much better than pho Mai and they close at 3am. Good fast service.
AMAZING PHO. The food is delicious. Would have given 5 stars if the waitress was a little more pleasant and didn't make you feel so rushed when ordering.
Delicious! We'd been to ph across the street several times but wanted to try someplace different. Way more flavor here!! Portions were huge and the food was delicious. Friendly and quick service too.
What is there to say.. most pho places are pretty similar. The food here is good and the service is fast and friendly. I have enjoyed everything I've ordered.. esp the taro smoothie!! I like this place better than others mainly because it's super clean and open late.. I DO NOT like "cash only" but that's pretty much any Asian spot you go to.
Breakdown: Vietnamese restaurant serving up your favorite vietnamese dishes.
The restaurant: It's a nice, spacious restaurant. This place ONLY accepts cash. If you don't have any cash on you, there's an ATM machine right inside the place. On the wall are a few rewards mentioning Pho Saigon as the best Pho restaurant for both 2012 and 2013. There are a few televisions on the wall, so you can watch while you eat. Also, there are bathrooms, so you can relieve yourself if you drank too much broth or ate too much sriracha sauce. The place is pretty clean, condiments are at your disposal on each table, and there's enough room to sit down without bumping into other customers.
Prices: A regular bowl of pho runs about $6-7 bucks. You can also add meat or more noodles to your dish, but that's going to cost you.
The atmosphere: It was a bit noisy, but not to the point where your ears will bleed. Usually, the place is either half full or full.
The food: I've always gotten the beef pho. I can honestly say that Pho Saigon serves some of the best pho dishes out there. The broth is super clean, the meat actually had flavor in it, and the noodles was exceptional. I've also gotten the chicken pho and that was good. The only thing I disliked about the chicken pho was the onions in it (I think it was sauteed onions or something). For me, the onions kind of derailed the taste of the broth a bit. I've also gotten the pearl teas here and man, they are good.
Will I come back: 'Pho' sho! See what I did there? Anyways, great food and great drinks; it can't get better than that. Well, it could get better if Pho Saigon saw this review, remembers me, and gives me free pho for life.
Came here on a cold day when my girlfriend and I were craving pho. There aren't that many pho places in Fremont, so we decided to check this place out.
Pretty big inside and quick service. I got the Pho Bo Vien (#4 pho with beef balls) and my girlfriend got the Pho with Beef and Beef balls on the side. We also shared Spring Rolls too! Their pho was a really good deal! About $6 for a size small, but the size small seems like a size large to me! Their taste is actually delicious too! It didn't taste too MSG-like and they gave really fresh bean sprouts and other veggies with it. LIKE THIS PLACE! and its super cheappp.
The only thing I don't like about this place is that they don't have a choice of pho with beef and meat balls. Usually all pho places do, but that would mean raising the cost a little and its better for a restaurant to set a basic cheap price with additional toppings. I want to come back and try their rice plates. OH yeah! and this place is open till super late.
Go eat here! The broth is great, fairly good amount of meat, really clean veggies and clean tables.
If you come here and get a rice plate, then start complaining about the food, you're an idiot.
This has become my new default pho place! Its really close to my place and its good quality food.
Like other reviews have said, its similar to a lot of other pho restaurants. What I like about it is that its open until late, the owners are friendly, and they have a variety of menu options (not just pho-- porridge, rice plates, desserts, etc). Just like other pho places though, there is a bit of a language barrier, and they have one older lady that 1) doesn't speak English very well (but if you order by #, she'll get it really quickly) and 2) she forgets to put in some of your orders (again, if you just check in with her again, she'll go put it in). Service is very quick though!
My personal favorites:
Pho Tai (meat on the side, of course!): very generous helping of pho, broth, and steak. The small is bigger than some pho places' large! Their broth is yummy and lacks the msg taste that ruins so many pho places. But it is very flavorful. They serve their pho with a special spoon that locks onto the side of the bowl (so it doesn't fall in!)
Daikon: This is the only pho place that I've seen that serves fried daikon with egg! Its a must to get this dish, so check with them as soon as you get there to make sure they have it.
Spring rolls: Large pieces of meat and shrimp, and doesn't have too much leaf stuff. Served with the yummy peanut sauce.
If you're looking for a good pho place in Milpitas, skip Pho Mai and cross the street to Pho Saigon!
Love this place! Ive tried over half of the menu items and I have Never been disappointed. Check it out.
Clean restaurant, great Vietnamese food and open late! Some of my go to menu items are the Bun Bo Hue or the Beef Stew! The employees work hard and are very nice. I wi continue to show my appreciation by going there and recommending them to anyone looking for food in the area!
I've been here a couple of times so far and I think this is my new go to place for non-pho dishes.
I tried the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio and it was pretty damn good. The portions are big here as everyone else says.. so come hungry! I like that the meat they have is not dry like some other places. It seems freshly cooked.
The Bun Bo Hue is good, too. I really don't know whether its authentic but I like their version. The blood cube thingies could be a little more fresh but other than that I really really liked it. It is a little oily but it totally hit the spot on a cold night.
The noodles in the pho IMO are inconsistent. The first time I tried it the noodles seemed overcooked and almost mushy. The other night I tried them and they seemed undercooked. The broth is realllly good, though.
The smoothies take forever to come out. They seem to forget about it a lot so you have to remind them. They are just okay so I would skip them all together. There's a Quickly's down the street if you need an after dinner tap craving filled.
Service here is hit or miss. Earlier in the night they have some mean ladies. The other night we had a really nice gentleman taking orders and another server even asked us if our orders had been taken.. this was after 11pm.
Things to skip: smoothies and spring rolls.
I'm a fan of all of their pho bowls! Every time I've gone here, everything is so fresh... even the spring rolls and the sauce! I do understand it gets busy, but they totally come out with your food on time and is never a long wait.... Other than that, the place is totally clean!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. It can be our cafeteria. When we think of Vietnamese food, we always go here since 2012. We just love the food here. I would not get thirsty after having a meal here. The noodle soup is excellent and their broken rice plates with grilled pork or chicken are my favorite dishes.
My go to spot. Order #33 if you want a noodle soup.
Also ask for the picked jalapeos they are pretty tasty and add a nice touch.
Need to come back to try the other items, but the pho that I had was just what I was looking for and helped me feel better afterwards.
Great broth, my co-worker didn't even mind the "other" beef items.
Nothing hits the spot like a late night pho stop after a long day of work!
Came here at midnight as this was one of the few places open this late. Got my usual #8 (I swear all pho places have the exact same pho menu or something). To my surprise, there was actually a lot of people here at this hour as well. They were super quick with our food and it was good! Good portion of meat to noodle ratio and the broth was good - not too bland or salty.
Overall, I would come back. Especially knowing that it is open late night.
Just a note: CASH ONLY!!
My local go-to pho place that has yet to let me down. They are WAY cleaner and better quality broth and noodles than Pho Mai across the street, and have awesome spoons with laddles that hug over the side of the bowl so your spoon doesn't fall in! Only thing Pho Mai has leverage over this place is variety in their menu. but if you're just ordering good ol' pho, go here!!!!
My friend keeps suggesting we go eat pho on the "place on Landess that's open until 3am". My response? "Uggggggh! Hell no." After exhausting all our late night choices on a Saturday night, I reluctantly conceded and drove up 680 to Landess.
Little did I know, there are two pho places on Landess just across the street from each other, Pho Mai and this place. I thought he meant Pho Mai, but he meant this place. As you can tell, my experience with Pho Mai was less than satisfactory, so I didn't have high hopes for this other place that's open til 3am.
And I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered my usual pho with rare steak and tripe and decided I'd go with a thai tea boba drink as well. The broth was surprisingly good and the portions were just enough. The thai tea boba was decent, and I don't consider boba at pho places very good most of the time.
Boy, am I glad that you're not Pho Mai, because now I have a place to eat at late at night that's not Denny's or In-N-Out.
Pho place that's open late at night? I'm in!
Came here a couple times with my boyfriend to get that late night pho fix. Service isn't extraordinary or anything. Like most Vietnamese pho places, you order your food, you eat it then you pay and leave.
I've only gotten pho ga (chicken pho) from here every time I come here. The food is consistant in taste and quality.
Will most likely come back since the boyfriend and I are always hungry at night :P
I seriously wonder why people prefer going to the... pho place across the street, instead of coming here. The pho here is so much better and much more authentic. I've been here three times and I have completely satisfied with my order each time. I've tried the pho as well as the egg flour cake. I feel like this place is so underrated! I usually never finish my food but I have no problem finishing it all here. They don't skimp on the veggies or the meat. Certainly a hidden gem of Milpitas.
If you like pho, particularly late at night, this is probably THE place to go -- it's one of the better broths I've had in the area (including Pho Mai, across the street... which only has more variety). So far, I've not strayed off the "pho" portion of the menu, however, so I can't speak to those.
As such, they also seem to have frequent law enforcement visits -- which may not be as preferred thing for the "after party" crowds. But say what you will, the city's finest often seem to know some of the best purveyors of good dining establishments, and know where to eat. They also do "to-go" orders.
Lastly, the family and friends that own/operate this place are generally pretty friendly people.
Being in the restaurant business and taking the time to actually make a proper pho, I can't believe how good it was. I had the raw beef one, soup was super hot and it cooked instantly. Delicious. I use a better quality steak when I make it at home, but then again I am not selling it for 6.95 either! For lunch or dinner you can't go wrong here. Fresh Tai basil you add yourself was a great touch. If you are in the area be sure to try it. Service was strange, but OK. Food alone is worth the 5 stars.
Went here after my long 15 hour shift at work. They open till 3AM now. Got the #1 here. Their broth was good. Barely added any sauces to it. I did add basil and sriracha sauce. The place was pretty cheap for pho. 3 people came out to about $24.
Must try? great place to try Pho. May be setting your expectations a little high that you may not enjoy the other places.
Try again? yes!
One of the best Pho spot in town! And I know this because I eat a lot of pho restaurant in San Jose, and this restaurant beats most of it!
Portions was big and the service was great. good to know a Pho restaurant closes at 3 am in case of late night cravings.
One of the cleanest pho restaurants I've seen so far. In my opinion I believe their rice plates, vermicelli bowls, and pho are so good! Although I wish they would fill up the bowl more! I always come here to eat pho with family and friends and I haven't stopped since the first time they opened. The woman who owns the place (along with her husband i believe?) is really nice and she recognizes my parents and I every time we're there. Overall, I recommend this place to others! Much cleaner than Pho Mai. #SorrynotSorry
Always quick service. They have tons of people coming through, but after a couple visits, they remembered me and my specific order. Nice people.
I came back with the company this time, and they sat us right away. There were only four of us and they all ordered noodle soup dish except for me. I ordered the com thit nuong.
oh my god, it was so delicious. I dont usually eat a lot because i'm such a tiny girl, but i finished off the whole plate. The grilled pork is so freaking good! it was pipping hot and it looked like it was glazed in some way. They gave me a side of soup and a small bowl of nuoc mam for my rice & pork. Had a little salad on the side too.
minus one star though because of the set up + cash only. Two of my coworkers soup bowls were not hot enough, so they had to reheat it. The workers were very nice about it though.
The lady who works here ( im guess the owner ) is always nice. Very rare when you eat at Asian restaurants. I love their wonton soup w/ white noodles. Esp best when i'm sick or hungover. My boyfriend always gets a large #1 w/ meatballs and every single time he finishes the whole bowl.
Hands down better than Pho mai across the street, in my opinion.
I've been here a few times now because my girlfriend loves coming here after we gallivant on the dance floor. It's pretty busy when I come but not overly crowded and I'm always able to find a table. Parking isn't bad for me either; there's plenty of it in the plaza.
Although the waiters are polite, I do not appreciate them dipping their thumbs in my broth before giving it to me. o_o Hence, the one missing star.
The pho here is pretty good, but the pieces of beef are TINY. I can't completely complain because there are plenty of it.
I'd have to say it's way better controlled here than City Restaurant for late night pho.
I've been here a couple times and have yet to have the Pho lol.
BUT, the vermicelli dish I had was great! Along with the rice plate.
Definitely will be back to try the pho.
BIG PLUS: Open late until 3 or 4AM I believe.
Quite possibly the best pho spot in San Jose.
It's open late, and the broth + beef are very tasty. It's also (noticably) cleaner than other pho places. Get the #1 special combination pho with all the meats and you won't be disappointed. The quality is better than the established Pho Mai across the street as well.
I'm a fan and will be back.
I'm a fan and very regular here. I moved in just down the street and so happy to have this little hole in the wall where I can get my Vietnamese fix.
As everybody mentions, they're open to 3:00 AM. Perfect for those nights when everything is closed!
I have yet to explore the menu, but I can say the pho is definitely good. My wife has tried the vegetables with tofu and she liked that. And my daughter is a fan of their beef stew, I forget what it's called in Vietnamese. I spent 15 years in Japan learning Japanese. My brain cells are to full capacity with that language. Can't fit in any more foreign words!
I need to venture out and try some of their rice plates but I like pho so much, it's hard.
Two thumbs up on this place.
One funny thing I've noticed about this place. The second you are seated, the waitress will come up--literally as soon you sit down, and she'll ask you if you're ready to order. That's happened twice and both times I couldn't help but laugh outloud.
Ready? We haven't even picked up the menu!
Talk about good service--maybe too ambitious?
This is one of my favorite restaurants. I frequent often and I recommend it to all my friends and family. Food is delicious. The restaurant is clean and updated and workers there are super friendly. I have tried a couple different noodle houses but nothing compares to this place. I will travel the distance for things that are worth it and this place is definitely worth it.
This place is so much better than the Pho Hoa that used to be here!
I tried this place because it was till 2am and I didn't want to go to Pho Mai.
The place is very colorful with large televisions everywhere. The place is clean and the people are helpful. Their menu covers almost all type of Vietnamese food you would usually see anywhere; pho, vermicelli, rice, etc.
First thing is that their pho/egg noodle soup portions are huge!! The large was humongous. I wasn't sure if I could finish it. ON A SIDE NOTE: they have the cool spoons that rest on the side of your bowl so it doesn't fall in the soup and you have to go fishing for it. I just thought that was cool. :P
I don't know if it was because I was extremely hungry, but I loved the pho! The broth didn't have a lot of the traditional beef pho taste, but it was good to me. It tasted more like chicken pho or a mix of the two.
I also tried the rice with BBQ pork and shrimp. Their rice dishes are extremely small as well as the shrimp. I would rather order this at Pho Kim Long. One thing I did like was that they cut all the pieces of meat into small pieces so I didn't need to cut or chew any off.
I will come back again just for the pho and the fact that they are open so late. It's hard to find good restaurants that are open so late in this area of San Jose.
I use to live in SJ, and this was the place to be after a night out. They're usually really good with customer service and sitting you down in a timely manner. Their food is pretty good and has better quality compared to the joint across the street. On top of that, they also open late night for all you night owls.
I've been here on mulitiple occasions during my lunch break. Everytime I've gotten pho it's come out very quickly and piping hot. The flavor of the broth is delicious! I'm very plain when it comes to my pho I just like the broth and plain white meat chicken with alot of sriracha. I also have tried the spring rolls and the bun thom thit nuong from here and both were equally as good. And I did notice in the spring rolls as an alternative to the usual mint leaves they roll up (which I always, always, always struggle to pick out due to my hatred for mint) they put some different type of herb maybe basil? It tasted much better! and the peanut sauce they serve is really good as well. Much prefer this place to pho mai across the street.
This place is underrated and people need too try it out. Me, my wife and son came here for lunch and the lady showed us a lot of love. She knew I was Cambodian and also said some words that surprised me. Food was great and great employees make better food. Thanks guy we will come again.
This place never fails!! I usually come here after a fun night out on the town with a decent sized group of hungry girls! They close at 3am so it's obvious they cater to party people! Not sure if it's bc I'm a little buzzed when I eat here but the food is sooo good! I love their bun bo hue. Very earthy beef broth spiced with lemongrass, anatto seed oil, and fresh condiments. Fast and quick service! Love it!!
Open late for pho, rice plates, vermicelli bowls, and pearl drinks!
I've been a regular for three years now and the service and food consistency never disappoints me. They're always accommodating even if I drop by ten minutes til' closing. Call ahead though.
#35 ~ I love the hot and sour seafood soup. It has some mussels, shrimp, and imitation crab along with pineapple, a spicy broth, and rice noodles. Get it.
#20 ~ My go to dish is the veggie pho.
#2 ~ My boyfriend loves the Pho Tai (thinly sliced beef soup with rice noodles).
For something sweet, I recommend a pearl drink. It's frothy and blended. I usually get the mung bean smoothie because it's super rare. It's got a bit of a grit to it with a hint of coconut milk. I've also had the taro flavor which is a bit sweeter.
Why I Went.
After a long night in the city or as a midnight snack this place always hits the spot.
What I Order:
Grilled pork and egg rolls over vermicelli/fried chicken wings.
This dish is simple in ingredients but pho saigon noodle house executes it extremely well. all the traditional veg and garnish are accounted for, the pork is perfectly cooked and the overall portions are huge. they also give you 2 full egg rolls with your order that are crispy and nicely salted. all for 7.25 can't beat that with a baseball bat! the chicken wings are also delicious.
The good: huge portions/good price/good service/open late
The bad: can get crowded and cash only.
Cut to the chase
4 stars (would be 5 stars if it was not cash only)
I have been many times and the food and service are consistently good. This is my favorite pho destination and is the standard by which i compare all other pho places. Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area
One of the cleaner pho places I've been to.
Get the Bun Bo Hue and #1 combination pho! I didn't like the Bun Bo Hue at Pho Kim Long, but I loved this one. Its actually spicy! Soo delicious! I can actually finish a small here, so portions seem smaller.
This my boyfriend and I's go-to pho place. I order the same thing every time, small #3 and thai milk tea. Each and every time it's exactly how I want it. A "small" is actually a huge portion. Not only that but our total is always under $20, how can you beat that? Not to throw shade, but with both my boyfriend and I being white, we've been treated less than okay at many Vietnamese run businesses. I can't think of a single time I've ever been unhappy leaving this place.
WHY WE WENT HERE:
- just finished bowling at AMF Mission Lanes
- wanted a real meal for dinner, not drive thru food
THE LOOK (OUTSIDE/INSIDE):
- located across the street from Pho Mai
- in same plaza as Seafood City, Korea Garden, etc.
- dark slate tile floor
- dark wood wall panels
- warm earth tones painted on walls
- very clean and quiet to average noise level; didn't see sloppy people like you would normally see at Pho Mai (then again it WAS a Sunday! So no one dining here late at night came from the bars or clubs)
- bathrooms are separate and located on opposite sides of the restaurant based on gender (VERY clean!!!)
- seating is spacious, unlike other pho shops where you have to suck it in to move to and from your seat
- variety; not just soup and noodles
PRESENTATION & TASTE:
- all serving plates and bowls had a clean white look and some with cool ridge detail
- tea pot wasn't as large and not as fulfilling in size as usually found in Asian restaurants
- soup dishes come with spoons that have handle ends (usually seen at ramen shops to prevent the spoon from slipping and falling into your soup)
- huge portions & great tasting food for a decent or cheap price
- server came to us several times prematurely when we hadn't even looked through the menu, better yet have a chance to make a menu item choice
- cash only
- friend's steak was raw (he ordered the steak with macaroni)
My best friend and I decided to find some late midnight meal. We chose this place due to good reviews and amazingly appetizing food (based on the pictures). When we got there the lady nicely greeted us and asked us "for here or to go?" We decided to have our orders to go since it was getting late. We ordered #64 and #76 with garlic rice instead of regular rice for additional $1 charge each, not bad. Apparently, the lady told me they ran out but soon after they took time out of their way to make some more. How sweet of them! Anyway, we waited for 20min. Not bad for 3 people waiting for to-go as well. The main reason why I decided to write this review is because their customer service was very good, especially for a vietnamese restaurant. Most vietnamese restaurant I've been to did not care so much about their guests, unlike this one.
Overall, the restaurant was very packed, clean, and have great customer service. I will definitely go there again and would recommend to others.
Love this place! Me, my mom, & my sister came to have dinner. They sat us at a big table, then 5 minutes later they moved us to a small table because a bigger group came in. I agreed to move because the lady was really nice. One of the guys were cleaning our table and he was in a hurry so he left some pieces of food and it was still kind of wet. My mom was pulling out napkin to clean what he left behind, but the lady was kind enough to wipe it herself w/ a dry cloth and said "don't worry, it's my job, he was in a hurry". Whatever her name is.. She's the reason why I give this place 5 stars, oh & I love the food lol.
One of the best late night pho places in San Jose. Definitely worth it after a long day or just to satisfy a craving
I still like this place. They keep the door open sometimes though, so it gets a little cold.
I haven't ordered the seafood chow fun lately because they use Hu Tieu noodles and kind of burn them some.
Started getting the Pork Vermicelli (Bun Thit Nuong), which is really good. Lots of veggies, which is always a plus.
Visited this place for lunch. I so happen to have cash with me so I went. Yes, they're a "cash only" place. I think they do have an ATM machine inside. It made me smile while eating when I noticed that almost everybody eating was Filipino. The owner of the place is Vietnamese and she turned the mounted TV to the PNOI Channel. It's a Filipino program. Maybe because everybody inside the restaurant at that time was Pinoy.
Anyways, I ordered their number one large. $6.25 is really a good deal. The broth is so good. I'd say it's better tasting than the broth at Pho Y #1 Beef Noodle House at Concourse Drive. The only downside is that this place is a bit of a drive and they only accept cash.
I also observed that the servers tend to disappear and linger in their back area. There were several diners who got finished and waiting to pay at the cashier. Nobody was around. Luckily nobody left without paying.
I'd stick to four stars in this review because I really enjoyed their Pho. You should try it if you are nearby. Just don't forget to bring cash with you.
This place has the best pho I've ever had. Hands down.
Living in Cupertino, it's kind of a trip for me to eat here, but it's worth it. It's cheap, delicious, and open late! Plus the interior is nicer than many of the other pho places I've tried. Their mango smoothie is also the bombdiggity. I literally daydream about it. So damn good, AH.
The people who work here seem to enjoy their jobs, and welcome you in with smiles even at 1:30AM. If I had to work that late, I would turn into Squidward. Or some other unhappy fictional character.
The only downside here would be that it's cash only! Sucks for me!
This place is great! My family & I were originally going to eat somewhere else but since they closed, this was the only place that was open. So a big thumbs up for that btw, they close at 2 am, & on Fridays they close at 3 am. The food came right away, it was pretty good too. Will probably be coming back to try their other cuisine
Just moved into the area and I was looking for my new Pho spot! Saw this place and thought id give it a try! So glad I did! The Spring rolls were really fresh, the chicken pho was really good and the chicken broth was on point! Some pho restaurants broth taste horrible and old but not here it was nice and fresh!
Service, well typical Pho place with little to slow service but thats okay because the food was worth it! Priced right too!
This is my usual place for pho! The food is always consistent. I love the broth! The appetizers are yummy as well. The chicken wings and eggrolls come out hot and crisp to perfection. There's no denying how cool the pho spoons are either. Another reason I always come back to this restaurant is the great service. I'm use to the cold attitudes at most pho restaurants, but the family who owns Pho Saigon is always so sweet and nice. Pho Saigon stays open until 2 am, so I have no trouble satisfying my late night pho cravings.
Got #3 beef pho and it was pretty amazing not to mention under $8! We only got 1 plate of basil, jalapeo and bean sprouts TO SHARE 2 pho plates (not happy about that). besides that it was pretty good.
This place was pretty good, can get in and out quickly, and it was usually busy so I can't imagine that they weren't make money. What's the story?
This is my go to Pho spot. I don't understand the bad reviews, we have always had great experiences here.
My boyfriend and I both had jobs that required semi-late hours. The trouble with living in the south bay is that not too many places are open past 9:30. We used to go to a place called City Restaurant, but they closed. We were devastated! It wasn't until a friend brought us here that we breathed a sigh relief. We found our new spot!
We are always seated quickly and since we pretty much get the same thing every time, our order is taken promptly. The food is out quickly and the smoothies are delicious! The prices are great too! There's only been a few times our food has taken a little longer, but I know when it gets busy that can happen. I'm not too critical when service is great every other time. Also, super cool spoons.
Only downsides are when it's busy, sometimes you have to sit at a conjoined table with another party. I'm kind of antisocial and like my space when I eat, but since we usually come later it's not generally a problem. Also, during December, a group of carolers came in EVERY NIGHT. Somehow, we were always there at the time they came. It was so annoying, but over pretty quickly. They were there to raise money for a church, and I'm not into being interrupted to listen to loud renditions of Christmas carols, but eh. Food is good and they weren't pushy.
As far as bad customer service goes, I actually think that the people here are WAY friendlier than other places I've gone to. Sometimes you go somewhere to eat pho and it's like they are angry at you the entire time. Not the case here, they have always been super nice to me.
This place was always pretty busy so i'm wondering why they closed. I miss going to this place and eat good pho :(
This establishment has grown to become one of my favorite pho places. Unlike Pho Mai, its direct competitor across the street, when you drunkenly eat a bowl of pho in the middle of the night, you don't wake up as a fire breathing MSG raisin.
Pho Saigon isn't just for 3am adventures! I eat here during mornings and it is just as good.
The owners are so sweet and hard working. They have a smile on their face at all hours of the clock, whether it's 3am or 12pm. I don't think they actually sleep!
Usually when I thought of Pho Saigon, I thought of it as a "late night, I'm drunk, and I need pho" place. A place where you go after the club or the bar, because you need pho to sober up, and it's actually open later than those places. When I'm in that situation, I think of Pho Saigon, only because I think Pho Mai is flavorless, and Lee Noodle House is too far. I usually almost always get pho, and the pho here is pretty good. Not the best, but not flavorless.
I finally come here sober in the day, and I thought I would switch it up, and get something other than pho. So I decided to get #29, HU TIEU DAC BIET. Remember that. It's AMAZEBALLZ, seriously. If the smell doesn't entice you, the taste definitely will. It was so good that I burned my tongue, because I wanted to keep eating. Absolutely delicious, and I will be coming back for more! I honestly did not think a "pho place" would have such amazing hu tieu, damn! There's a great variety of meats in there, and the overall soup is full of flavor. MUST TRY, I cannot stress that enough.
All in all, this is a great place to get late night Viet food. It's pretty clean when no one is throwing up, and service is good too. LOL, they do ask you if you're ready right when they hand you the menu, even before you have a chance to look.
Awesome place for after-clubbing eating! Surprisingly, you'll find the restaurant at least 50-75% filled around 1-2AM.
Their pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) is really good! However, their servings is a bit too much for me. I would personally prefer to split a size small with someone, but that's just me! Good price for the generous size of the serving you get!
You can tell the pho is good when you taste the broth BEFORE you add anything in it (squeezed lime/lemon juice, Sriracha sauce, plum sauce etc.). It's hard to say what good tastes like, but BAD pho = bland broth. Not a problem here!!
A favorite that I get is Banh Canh Gio Heo. I prefer pork over crab in my banh canh. Banh canh has a more chewy texture to their noodles. I eat it slowly because I put my noodles on my spoon before I eat it. It is very slippery to eat straight from the chopsticks!
The broth for banh canh is very similar to pho, and I still love it! In fact, I actually came again to eat banh canh for lunch (less than 12 hours in between)!!
With a name that could be confused with a dozen other Pho restaurants in the bay area, I met a friend at this place out of convenience and it turned out pretty good!
I ordered my current fave, Pho Tai Gau (rare and brisket beef slices) in a small size. It came out in a nice bowl that is most restaurant's medium, or even some stingy places' large bowl.
The broth was pretty clear and had good flavor, with some depth and complexity. No obvious shortcuts employed to dilute the taste. The condiments were fresh and plentiful, although they used lemon slices (gave us 4 for 2 people) instead of lime.
The decor is typical Viet Diner, although in a clean and modern way, with fairly new furniture, not leftovers from 25 years ago.
The great thing about this place is that it is open till 3am. So you party types (party, in Milpitas? Well, you can try Tequila Shots on Main) can come here after the bars close. Or just later at night, as most Pho places in the area (i.e. Pho Kim Long) closes at 9 or 9:30.
This is in the same strip mall as Ming's restaurant, which is a little more formal and has good Banh Xeo, in my opinion. It is across the street from Target, and just up the road from the Great Mall.
Came here for lunch. It's air conditioned so it felt good to walk in. Lots of tables so you don't have to wait.
The service is quick and even a small bowl of pho is really big. The noodles are soft and meat are well done. Most of the pieces have fat on them so I tried to avoid them.
Typical pho place - pretty good.
As someone who used to be a huge fan of Pho Mai, which is located across the street from Pho Saigon, I have to say this place if by far way better quality. When my boyfriend and I are hungry, whether it's lunch time, dinner time or midnight, this place never disappoints me. The seafood soup is was better than Pho Mai. Their Vermicelli Bowls are amazing!!! I suggest the one with the pork and egg rolls. The only thing I wish they had is a Com Tam menu like the one on Silver Creek. But other than that, this place is my favorite Pho restaurant in the San Jose/Milpitas area. The staff is super friendly too. The cashier always recognizes us, which means they do value their regular customers.
Came in on a Sunday night around midnight and seated right away.
The large pho was good enough to share between my boyfriend & I.
We also ordered the fried taro cake and it was good, I would come back here again.
Their pearl drinks were good and a reasonable price!
Their pho actually highlights this beef flavor in the broth! When I go to other pho places, it is the typical broth that you would ideally have, but in this pho broth, there is this surprisingly, enriching beef flavor that pops out! YUM!
Their seafood egg noodle soup is pretty unique! They fry this shrimp and it is in a form of a batter fried piece like a chip for you to crunch at while slurping on some noodles! Mmmhmmm!
Picture of the shrimp chip in the Seafood Egg Noodle bowl - yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-
They offer a variety of noodle soup bowls and rice plates to choose from!
Good service, inexpensive pho and cash only!
Wow they open late
I came here late last night for my dinner with my friends. They still opened until 2am. Amazing! Food was really good and so tasty.
So nice services.
Many smiley faces.
I can't even complaining any bad things about them.
Will be back some days soon.
THE BEST PHO IN NORCAL!!!!! I have been here many times, the food were always delicious, I kept saying wow everytime I ate there LOL .
Plus this place had a great customer service. They are very nice sweet and especially the owner, she super friendly I love her. Morever, they really put effort in treat you well.
I totally love this place, its one of the BEST restaurant I've ever been to.
+ Good Food, Great Service, Nice Place and Reasonable Price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great value of Vietnamese foods.
So no doubt bout it. I give this restaurant above 5 star .
One of the best pho places in the Bay Area! My girlfriend and I come here every Wednesday to have our weekly Pho dates! Ken is really nice and welcomes us every week! We also come there since its open really late at night!! They also have TV's there that play football, baseball and basketball whenever it's on!
THE BROTH!!! Once you have the broth here you'll never go back to anything else! The meat tastes better if you ask for it on the side and then dunk it all in. It makes a huge difference in the texture!
My buddy recommended this restaurant since I was going to hit up Beard Papa too. It is not in the main indoor food court, but on the corner of the adjacent building/plaza. My first impression was that someone's behind on bussing tables! A lot of unoccupied tables with dirty dishes as I looked around who's the host/hostess. Seafood noodle soup came with a giant wedge of store-made shrimp chip! Sooo thick...it absorbs the soup and the submerged portion becomes slightly soggy. The broth was very flavorful and savory. I had ordered the yellow noodles but got the thin rice noodles. Oh wells, still good but not as filling. I noticed the couple at the next table didn't receive their noodle soups together. One bowl took significantly longer than the first. I would be nice if they were coordinated so everyone in the party can eat together.
I like this place a lot bc of their broth but the only downside to why i dont go here that often anymore is because they only accept cash:( i hope it changes soon
Open late and taste great! Banh canh is dank here. Could get pretty busy at times especially when you come when the drunks call it a night. Straight up in Manila. Looks like they have more of a variety on their menu than say.. Pho Tau Bay. 4 Stars!
This is now my go to spot for Pho! My friend and I were seated right away since it wasn't busy on a Friday dinner time. My pho came out quickly and pipping hot. The broth is just freaking delicious. I had the rare steak and flank then I drizzle it with lots of Sriracha and a bit of hoisin sauce. You could also ask them for egg noodle if you prefer to eat that with your soup. The service is fairly fast here, they take card too!
This is not my normal pho place, but my mom and I have always seen it by the corner of the shopping center and wanted to give it a shot. The place is pretty big with lots of seating (I would imagine it gets pretty crowded late at night).
I got the #1 (pho with brisket, tendon, and tripe) and my mom the seafood pho. Even though I got the small, they are definitely generous with portions here and I ended up engorged by the time I was done. There was also a LOT of meat. The broth was't great but not bad at all. I'm not sure how anyone finishes a large...
My mom's order was definitely one of the best seafood phos I've ever tasted. Seafood broth is normally not very flavored and can even come off as bland in a lot of other pho shops. The soup here had a very fresh taste and had just the right amount of strength - not too salty but also very noticeable. The fried seafood cake that comes in the pho is also a nice plus.
Service wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be given the other reviews.
WOW. It is very hard to find a place open so late at night and with such good food! Went to eat with some friends and we ordered pho and their rice vermicelli noodle with egg rolls. It was bomb!! The only reason I deducted a star was because the pho didn't have enough meat. Other than that the broth was delicious and food was inexpensive! Just wish this place was closer to home that way my boyfriend and I can eat here more often haha! I also appreciated the welcoming service our waitress gave us. My friend and I are Vietnamese and our boyfriends are Mexican so sometimes when going to these Vietnamese places we are treated pretty rudely or get lots of staring so it was nice to see someone smile at us. Will be coming back if I'm ever in the area!
I love this place, came here with a few friends around 9 pm after a Paint Nite because they are open late. We all ordered the flat rice noodle soup, and it was soooo good. The flat rice noodles were cooked just right and had a good texture. Also I loved the giant shrimp chip that came with the soup. We all finished the soup to the last drop haha. Only thing is I wish they would put more amount of fresh meat/seafood in the noodle soup, I only got a few pieces of each. But for the price, its pretty good, around $7-$8 for a big bowl of noodle soup. Hits the spot! :)
My favorite late night Pho place! I would usually go here around 1 or 2 am because I want something different than fast food. Even after the club, we would just drive all the way here instead of the pho place 5 minutes away from my house. For awhile, I was going to Pho Mai which was across the street, then one day I just decided to try this place. Now and forever I'll stay loyal to Pho Saigon.
Service is good, food comes out quickly, and it is very clean.
50% of the time I do come here, theirs cops eating there too, so watch out. Late crowds always consist of a few drunks. That includes me at times! :P
I have never tried anything else, but the Pho Tai! It has favor and tastes very good! I usually order the small and it really it's pretty big and I don't normally finish it. They're generous with their lemon or lime. I LOVE lemon/lime and usually need about 5 pieces. They gave me like 8 lemon slices last time and that's awesome. The normal spoons for pho usually falls into the soup if not handled properly, but this place has these cool spoons are made to be placed on the rim of the bowl.
This place never disappoints me, I always leave feeling satisfied, and get food coma after.
Pho here was better than expected. In addition to pho they have rice and bun dishes. So if you're not a fan of pho there are other options here. I tried the #1 pho special, portion was pretty good and the broth not too overly salty and the meat and vegetables looked pretty fresh. We also tried the bun with eggrolls and shrimp. Also very good...although the shrimp/prawns weren't as big as other places, it still was pretty satisfying.
Overall, we weren't expecting too much at this place since I'm generally not a big fan of franchised pho places but the pho was very good and the bun dishes just as well. Also this place closes very late so if you're tired of jack in the box or Denny's late night check out this place. It gets crowded the later it gets!
Great pho place. And they're open late. And they're accepting card now too.
Come to this place over pho mai across the street. Bigger and better portions for I think the same price. The place is bigger with more seating for you and your buddies. Service might be the same but I cant really say. I can't even remember the last time I was at pho mai. I've always chose to come to pho saigon ever since I first tried this place. Bowls run from $6-$8. The pearl drinks here aren't the best. The pearls from what I remember are hard. But the pho on those days when you're sick or if gods crying while bowling this place will hit the spot.
Just recently discovered this place after being a regular at pho Mai across the street and I must admit it was quite pleasant. Not a huge line, less cramped, and the food was just as good. Great alternative if you don't feel like dealing with lines, and cramped spaces. Just like pho Mai, they are opened late which is convenient of you get off work late or feel like eating pho after a night out. Service was good and fast. Food was great as well. A bit disappointed with the Thai tea because I like sweet drinks and it tasted a bit bland. 4 stars for pho saigon.
Good broth and meat. Noodles are the same as any other pho place I've been. We'll be back whenever we want pho.
Open till 3 am?!? No one can compare to that. Great for coming out the clubs or bars. Too bad it's milpitas. The food is good for eating out. There's always a full house here every time that I've gone. Business is booming. :).
I feel so silly for forgetting about this place, I had been there once before yesterday. Our usual place is the Pho Mai across the street--we will never be going back there. Pho Saigon is not only cleaner, but the service is much better and the ambiance of the place is a lot more enjoyable when with company (you don't have to share tables with other customers and volume level is decent) lol
This is our new go to place for sure.
3 words: Bun Bo Hue. The broth was rich and flavorful, unlike some other half-asz'ed Vietnamese restaurants Ive been too where the broth was pretty much a lukewarm concoction of water and MSG. Decent meats & cubes that definitely filled my tummy. Only down side is that I waited quite a long time before we got our food - another party of two who got seated after us was out the door before in less time.
Pretty standard pho. I ordered the #1, and it was nice with the bean sprouts, lime, and thai basil. The meat was nice and tender.
I come here at least 6 times a month, it's really that good.
I have a usual that me and my three friends get.
A small 27 with pot stickers and veggie egg rolls.
Also the hostess always remembers me. :)
Found this place around 9:30pm on Google when I searched for a Noodle Restaurant and was very surprised at how late they stay open. First time here, and I was not disappointed. When I first arrived, they were surprisingly busy, but I was still seated right away. I ordered a small bowl of pho for $5-something and was amazed at how much noodles there were! 4 stars because I'm basing this on a small bowl full of noodles and broth (#23). Also, when it was time to pay - the lady at the register asked what table number, but there was no number on or around my table so I pointed to where it was and said the table in the corner. Then, she yelled across the room in another language to whom i could only assume was my waitress to determine which ticket was for my table - they need a better system to determine the ticket orders or just make sure that all their tables are numbered and visible for the customers. Other than that, the service was great, the noodles were great, and the workers that helped me were friendly, nice and respectful. I am definitely planning to come back here to try their rice plates!
First time here, and yes it was perfect for a late night Pho craving! I don't usually eat outside soup since I can always make it at home, but late last night, I was just not feeling good at all and wanted something quick and take out. I have tried Pho Mai #1 numerous times in the past, but I noticed I get really slouchy, lazy, and a slight headache. Assuming from all that MSG, but who knows. After eating Pho Saigons #1 pho bowl on the menu, me and my family loved their broth, their meat, and their portion! Portion was perfect, not too much, or too less. Meat was perfectly cooked. To end this review, Not sure if it was the owner, but The lady that helped me out was, "May." She was very nice & conversational, which you don't usually get at a pho restaurant especially late at night. Yes I recommend this place! Yes I will be back for more in the future! And yes I hope portioning, taste, and quality stays the same!
This place had quickly became my favorite pho place. I normally always order the pho dac biet and the broth is so flavorful. It's a bit salty but I'm not complaining haha. I also think the chicken broth for pho is full of flavor too. Flavorful and very light at the same time.
The rice plates here are so yummy as well! I love how the grilled pork is tender as well as the bo luc lac.
The place itself is clean and nice
Pricing is super cheap which is great.
i've been here about twice and both times i got pho & the portions were great, broth is delicious. i would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a new pho place!
The best pho place in this world.I can't get enough of this place.I love there wonTon pho
What's not to like? They are servicing the San Jose will into the very late nights for everyone who craves decent and filling Asian food. They serve Vietnamese and Chinese food. During my first visit, I was coming down with a bad cold. It was really late and I discovered this place on Yelp. Was happy to see that they open very late and you could easily order online via Eat24 on Yelp. I orderd Pha Ga (chicken broth noodles) and fresh squeezed OJ to help nurse my cold. It was delicious. The broth was just want I needed. The employees there were very friendly too and did their best to make me feel welcomed and I didnt wait too long to received my order. This restaurant is also conveniently located near the 680 freeway and plenty of parking within this plaza.
Good place for pho and good atmosphere if you don't mind a few young people coming in and being loud, no problem for me. Service was great and something I don't see a lot in pho places the waitress was even happy. I had a pho thai with meat outside and told them to also add 3 pieces of shrimp on the side as well. Tea was good and water was good too. Price was actually very good as well. Will come again.
Awesome place!!!! Delicious food and excellent service. My hubby & I loved it!!! After a great concert this place hit the spot. Such a nice end of the night.
4 stars because you are tasty and deliver! We ordered take out a few times and customer service was professional, courteous, and timely. One day, we were finally in the neighborhood and thought we should stop by and actually eat some pho inside since our delivery experience has been phenomenal. Service was "ok", and while eating, they allowed some church people to come in, sing christmas songs (it was January), and pass out donation envelopes! It was rude, loud, and uncomfortable. To make it worse, a young girl (probably 8 years old) was singing with her mom. It was not the place, nor the time. I give it 4 stars for the indoor hustling but the delivery is amazing!
My go to spot since it's near home and they're open late. I was a frequent customer at Pho Mai across the street but when Pho Saigon opened up, I haven't made a trip back. I like the broth here even if it's a bit oily and I think the quality of the pho is more flavorful compared to other local pho spot in the SJ/Milpitas area. They used to be cash only but now they accept card! (finally) Different bowl sizes are offered as well but I think a small is more than enough.
Definitely the spot to go to if you're craving pho!
Good pho tai
Good bun thit nuon
Good cha gio
Service is ok interior is nice larking is easy good price
Reasonable price, good food, open till very late.
Amazing service and AMAZING food. I highly suggest the wonton pho with or without noodles if you haven't tried it yet. It's so delicious. I crave it at least once a week!
very good pho and bun bo hue. Menu offers typical vietnamese dishes. very reasonably priced and quick friendly service.. One of my staples for lunch in the area...
I love bun bo hue..busy we have to remind em our orders like drinks,fork.. I know bun bo hue always my pick....
Second visit here and the food is great. The pho is very fragrant and prices reasonable.
Portions are big. Very affordable. Would return here again
Nice place to eat pho, clean and delicious
Clean, fast, yummy food, and open after work hours
This is one of the best pho places for me. It's convenient and late night and very delicious!! I have been to multiple pho houses around San Jose area and this by far tops them all. Not only is their price fair, but their staff are all very loving and welcoming. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants pho. They're open until 2am! It's not a 5/5 it's a 10/5.
Great price & food
Very good Pho Dac Biet...
Very good food, nice n clean, quick seating, open very late into the AM, very fun owners and polite service. TV so i can watch the sports
Conveniently located in a big plaza with ample parking. Ordered the BBQ pork and prawns(3) and everything tasted pretty good. A lot of food options (pho to rice and other noodle dishes). Went at night and business was a little slow, but service was very quick. Overall, tasty and cheap food. Would go again!
late night tasty best pho
Love the pho! They treat me like family!
Very good food for 1am!! Nothing else better as its all closed. Except bad drive thru - which I hardly eat, especially not at 1am. Only time I go here is late night. Have I made that clear. And it's pretty busy! Every time. The noodle soups are all I've tried. 3 stars for the food. 1 plus star for getting freshly made food at 1am. Thank you for being open!!!
We were invited to this Pho restaurant a few months ago and it's by far way better than our last "go to". The food comes out hot and fresh!
The prices are on point for what you receive. The staff is available and on it. I believe it's the owner who is very personable and funny.. likes to joke and is present.
The atmosphere is like a cafe in a strip mall. Pretty standard but even when it's busy it doesn't feel that way because it has an open feel being in the corner with windows on 2 of the four walls in the dinning area.
We've tried multiple items since coming.
We're suckers for delicious Pho and this is it. The bowl size for small and large is exactly what one would expect. They also have a Kids Pho bowl of soup. My son is 5 and hammered it and my small was so big I couldn't finish it so I shared my noodles.
We've had the veggie, chicken, and beef Pho. We've had the spring rolls and egg rolls. We've had the vermicelli salad with grilled pork and egg roll.
What we like to is the option to mix and match the broth. Even when I order the veggie Pho I can ask for beef or chicken broth. The chicken broth is light and very flavorful. The beef broth is a little heavier in flavor, rich and beefy- I could taste the meaty flavor in just the broth which also means I could sense the heavier animal fat flavor. Great and I'd order it again if it were not for the light and tasty chicken broth and a little better for my health. The chicken is tender, fresh, and just enough for the Pho. The beef can have some fat in there but it's a standard cut and it can be a hit or miss with how much fat is in each piece. But overall very good and filling.
The vermicelli salad is delicious. The pork is grilled and filled with flavor. Irresistibly delicious.
My 5 yr old son loves the spring rolls and eats 1 order for himself and loves the peanut dip sauce. The egg rolls are crispy and a little oily but they're fried. You get what you're asking for. Yum.
Next time, fried rice with lemongrass pork for me.
One of the Best pho you can eat in san jose... Better than pho mai!!!!
Number 66 always has me and the family coming back, if you like rice plates, this one will always do. Nice people there. Good customer service. Thought they had closed down for a while but looks like their back up.
This place has apparently been around for 6 years!? How did I not know!? So much better and CLEANER (omg no bugs) than Pho Mai #1. Was a loyal customer to pho Mai, but that place is infested with bugs. We stopped eating pho all together because I couldn't find a good place until we discovered Pho Saigon! Their veggie pho comes with the option to get vegetarian broth - win!!!! Love this place! Very clean. The workers are meh as usual pho style restaurant, but the woman at the front where you pay is very sweet and friendly.
Amazing food and friendly service good prices
Some of the best pho in the south bay... and, they're open LATE (no, that's WELL-beyond the typical 10pm, and past the time when the cars close).
Normally, I'd go across the street to Pho Mai, but I'm glad I gave this place a chance again after they remodeled. Their food taste a lot fresher than Pho Mai (their food taste so bland lately). And they're also open late. I'd definitely be picking this place over Pho Mai any day.
My family and I was in the area and wanted some pho so we decided to stop by this place to try it out. I ordered myself a bowl of their #1 pho and surprisingly a large is only $7.95!!! The broth was perfect! Not too salty and just the right amount of noodles and meat. I also ordered their Vietnamese deep fried egg rolls and it was bomb! Very crispy and delicious! First time here and I am a very satisfied customer...I will be back to try out their rice plates for sure.
Ordered the NY steak + macaroni & chicken + red rice. Not as great as places in OC, but descent for a late night craving. Gave an extra star for the late hours & the man taking the orders (I think he's the owner). Many Vietnamese restaurants can come off very aggressive, but he was super nice, attentive, and helpful.
Pho saigon has always been my absolute favorite place to get pho. I go about once every week or two. The portions are large- and for such a great price! The employees are very nice as well although most of them don't really speak english (as usual pho restaurants). My favorite order is the #2 beef pho, but I've also tried the crunchy chow mein, chicken pho, spicy seafood noodle soup and various other rice dishes that were all satisfactory. It seems as though all their food is fresh and well prepared.
It's a disappointment, however, when my girlfriend orders her favorite dish, beef stew, and they always say they ran out.
We've come to overlook this since they have many other amazing options and a very extensive menu!
Sadly, the last few times I've come they have been closed. At first it said that they were closed for the fourth of july holiday, and now it says they're closed for the rest of summer break. It's so sad to see my favorite place no longer open as I'm used to. Hopefully they don't close for good, definitely the best pho I've ever had.
nice food and quick service.
This is my go to spot for late night pho. Places is usually packed at night. I always get the #1, which is the beef noodle. I'm a very simple person. So it works for me. The food is good, place is clean. Service is really good. No complaints here. Give it a try if you haven't.
Authentic and inexpensive. Good place.
They had good pho and a very nice looking cutlet on rice. Quality looked very good and they're open much longer than the places around it.
For those who search for a late night restaurant with great tasting food and generous portions, look no further. Pho Saigon has been one of the best and consistent pho shops I've gone to since living in the Bay Area. The food, whether the pho, the rice plates, or the awesome smoothies are always on point. They have a very wide range of noodle combinations with different broths and proteins. The staff here are always friendly and very attentive. Food is served pretty quick (5-10 min wait at most) here and there's practically no wait for seating even though it gets pretty busy here. Also very reasonably priced for the portions you get and there's always parking.
I was extremely devastated when the restaurant had closed for renovations but am very happy with the new look and additional seating. My favorite here is their seafood combo with yellow noodles and shrimp cake. Best cure for anything. And the avocado smoothies? Best on the block and this place is open til 3 AM. I used to live 10 minutes away but even now living in Fremont, it's definitely worth the drive.
Hello i am steven
By far the best late night pho place in the south bay. Open until 2am on weeknights and 3am on weekends
The food is always delicious Great customer service I was get a large number one it's the bomb
One of the many stops on my pho adventures. It's cheap, delicious, and opens late. I generally love pho, it usually satisfies my empty stomach, so with some rare exceptions, I would usually give four stars to all the pho places I've been to (Not much help right?).
However the one thing that is different about this place is how late it opens until. Sometimes a girl just have to have pho in the middle of the night, or after a long trip from Yosemite, or watched a movie etc.
Bottom line: If you have plenty of pho options and don't live particularly close to this place, don't come out of your way to enjoy it. Chances are there is a pho place that is closer to your home. If you are craving pho in the middle of the night, do come. You will definitely have happy dreams :)
I'm finally happy that they reopen it again!theyre food is much better than the one across the street
Came here by accident. Ordered no.1 the most popular pho in all Vietnamese place and salty plum soda
Pho - Pho was good and in good size. Even I ordered small and it was good amount for a girl
Salty Plum soda - my personal fave - if you never try you never know simple sour plum, plus salt, plus soda could generate coolest feeling in Summer. I must say this drink is not only availabe in this restaurant but I was so glad they have that.
craving for a pho 12am??? no problem at all.. they open til 3am.. they just renovate the place more nicer... and the food is decent i got the rice place with com ga roti pan fried chicken its good it comes with tomato rice and my husband always get pho its really good..
thumbs up for this place.. good service always too!!
Love this place! I always get the pho and they never disappoint! I love that the pho is super consistent and that the quality doesn't change every time I come to eat here. The owners are super nice and friendly. So much better than pho Mai, it's so gross there btw. If you want quality for an unbeatable price, this is your go to pho spot.
Our favorite Pho spot around the South Bay. Recently changed owners but the food is still great. My wife and I typically get the rare steak and meatball Pho and share the Pho Ap Chao which is a fried pho with stir fried vegetables and chicken. Very good spot for late nights after drinking.
After a few weeks, this place has reopened after remodeling its dining room! Looks more spacious without the dark colors.
Prices and taste has not changed.
One of my "Go To"s.
OFFICIALLY RE-OPENED!!! Cash Only for now!! Same great taste, same great prices and same great service! They did some remodeling. Looks a lot nicer! Super glad they reopened, this is my favorite spot. Always my go-to. Glad to have ou back Pho Saigon
Pretty stoked this place is back. Clean, fresh new look with the same great tasting food. Ordered my usual, a small #3 with a side of eggrolls. Delicious.
Thank God this place opened back up.
Can't stand Pho Mai.
Great place to go eat if you have the late night munchies. Their pho is alright but I always order their mi xao gion either beef or seafood. I like how the crispy noodles taste, and that they don't drown the crispy noodles in sauce.
Service is whatever but food is good.
Great soup n great pho place with reasonable price. With new owner n chef this place surpassed pho Mai
A group of friends and I came here around 12:15am after a long drive coming back from the Justin Bieber concert!! (I was screaming with all the little girls there but no shame)
We were absolutely starving since most of my friends and I didn't eat dinner because we knew about the ridiculous Oakland traffic. They remodeled everything and it looks better from what I remember! A lot cleaner too.
2 of my friends ordered pho while my other friend and I ordered hu tieu. It was decent. So much better than Pho Mai (which too be honest I'm surprised hasn't gotten shut down yet, it's disgusting). One of the better places I would go for late night munchies!
Pho Saigon is back! Thank the heavens!
They're in the middle of remodeling, but it already looks cleaner. The menu and prices are the same as they were before they closed.
Pho Saigon Noodle House came to my attention via a breakup of the partnership. New Pho Saigon (1770 Clear Lake) is the other enttty.
Pho Saigon was sparsely attended 9ish. decor old. seating functional. not tightly spaced. 2 flatscreens working. typical Vietnames menu without esoteric items except Bun Bo Hue.
pricing relatively inexpensive.
eats: Pho Tai Gan (7.25 L)
-really hot broth, sweet and above average beefy broth
-7ish pieces of gan/tai. gan tender, tai chewy, noodles just right.
-didn't come out instantly, some prep time involved (5-10 minutes)
actually a good sign, pho usually taste better when more prep involved.
-slight msg aftertaste, not everlasting, effects gone after 30 minutes...
-inexpensive compared to new eateries, good value
-some msg usuage, per usual, no service after getting food
-order taker same as cashier, probably related to ownership.
-lots of parking, opens till 2 a.m. weekdaays.
I don't know why it's taken me so long to write a review but I love this place! This is the best place to go to between 1-3am haha. I don't know why you'd ever go to Pho Mai when this place is across the street! I'm sorry but Pho Mai is shit.
I love their pho ap chao beef!! The rice noodles are so crispy! Yum :). My bf usually gets the com thit nuong, idk what they marinade the meat with but it's bomb! Also we usually always get the banh bot chien, it can't fail!
Love that this place closes so late and the owner is super nice!!
I love this place and also so happy that it has re opened! not only that but it went through a renovation and looks better than ever!
The hours are amazing for the night owls. :) great service and the family are great as well!
